In sports, I believe that the highest standard we can set and hold for ourselves and others, is the ability to put humanity above all else. 1/3

Lets stop talking about training women as women. What does this mean and what is it based on? No one is talking about training men as men. TRAIN AS ATHLETES. If you do this, ovarian hormone profiles will automatically be included, same as every other aspect of your physiology is.

6) Female athletes [sport practitioners and researchers]: learn about your [your athletes] bodies and listen to them – it’s what all good athletes [practitioner/researchers] do. Train for the demands of your sport. Fuel for the demands of your sport. TRAIN AS ATHLETES.
This research is intriguing and exciting.

Many think it’s the minimum standard, but it’s actually the hardest one to achieve day in and day out. It requires humility, patience, a commitment to process, openness, kindness, a resistance to the “norm,” COURAGE, bravery, vulnerability, a removal of the “self” 2/3

Seeing some posts about manual muscle testing…
While I agree that MMT is far from perfect, I also really like it for a lot of reasons.
Should we stop using MMT altogether?
As with so many things in PT… it depends.
For many patients- it’s sufficient.
Can someone help me understand two things: 1) why are we petitioning to the CEO and not our governing body to step in here? And 2) why isn’t DPT a protected acronym?

Power stays w/white cis het men, because other men only value their voices & use their power to further their own power
Notice how many cis white het men in physios R now expert in the 'soft skills' they ridiculed 5 years earlier?
Who is excluded?
Stop inviting the same 11 men.

How can you ask women to program their exercise training synced with their cycle, when they don't even know what phase of the MC they're in?

Menstrual cycle phase-based training is a fallacious practice with no evidence to support it

None of this is meant to question how good a coach Nate Tibbetts is or will be. He may do a great job in Phoenix. It's about the opportunities that Black women in particular don't get, especially in a business where they represent the majority of the work force. ...
It’s white male privilege and men’s sports privilege. Female staff in women’s leagues are pervasively undervalued, underpaid and treated like garbage. This highlights what we, who love the women’s game more than anything, have seen and experienced in every facet of staffing
