I wonder why @talkSPORT have deleted this? Have they been told by @prorefofficial to take it down? 🤔
We all saw what a joke the decision was. VAR will be ‘Light touch’ according to Webb!
🚨🗣️ Gary Neville on the Neco Williams goal:
“VAR has changed the game, and not in a positive way. You see a goal like that and suddenly there’s a search for any possible reason to rule it out. Instead of celebrating the football, everyone is waiting for VAR.
Sometimes it feels like the technology is protecting teams rather than helping the game. We’ve reached a point where every goal is treated like a crime scene, looking for the smallest detail that can change the decision.
Football is supposed to be about instinct, emotion and the big moments. But VAR has taken some of that away. Players score, fans celebrate, and then everyone just stands around waiting for someone in a room miles away to decide whether they’re allowed to celebrate.
We need to seriously ask whether VAR is actually improving football. Because if the technology keeps taking away the excitement and turning every decision into controversy, then something has gone badly wrong.
Ashley Cole on England’s World Cup semi-final elimination.
🗣️ “England have bottled it. There’s no sugar-coating this. You don’t spend years building one of the most talented squads in world football only to crumble the moment you’re asked to show courage. They gifted Argentina belief and paid the ultimate price.”
“They went into their shell after taking the lead. Instead of finishing the game, they started protecting it like a small nation hanging on against a giant. That mentality is embarrassing for a team with England’s quality. Champions kill games—they don’t hide from them.”
“The manager completely lost his nerve. His substitutions, his tactics, his message to the players—it all screamed fear. Sitting deeper and inviting Lionel Messi and Argentina onto you is football suicide. Everyone watching knew what was coming except the people on the England bench.”
“And the players deserve criticism too. Too many disappeared. Too many hid instead of demanding the ball. When Argentina raised the intensity, England folded like a pack of cards. You cannot call yourself world-class if you vanish when your country needs you most.”
“This wasn’t bad luck. This wasn’t the referee. This wasn’t fatigue. This was a complete collapse of mentality. England threw away a place in the World Cup final because they lacked the courage to keep playing football.”
“If you’re satisfied with reaching the semi-finals, then keep making the same mistakes. But if you genuinely want to become world champions, performances like this should haunt every single person in that dressing room. They didn’t lose to a better team—they lost to their own fear.”

UB40 on stage at the Together Alliance march,
"We were all born in the 1950s, that was the time unions were strong, my dad was a factor worker, and we had the NHS, council houses, and it was a great time for the working class"
"We all grew up in inner city Birmingham, it was a melting pot. You could sit on your doorstep and see teh four corners of the world go by"
"Members of the band were the first generation of Black British. Their parents came over in the Windrush convoy. We went to school together"
"And we remember Enoch Powell's rivers of blood speech"
"We remember when the Tories using posters saying: if you want a coloured person as your neighbour, vote Labour"
"We also remember the rise of the national front. Policies to force repatriation of people from the Caribbean"
"Then we had the rise of the BNP in the 80s and the 90s"
"Then we had the spivs and millionaires in UKIP"
"And now we've got Reform UK"
"Of course they're full of Tories, taking the toxic policies that UKIP had, and the National Front promise of forced repatriation which is what Theresa May did in her government"
"Over the years we've visited all kinds of places from America, Australia, Africa"
"And one thing we've come to the conclusion of is that working people around the world have more in common with each other than they do with the elites and the billionaire class"
"There are more of us than there are of them"
"This has been such an amazing turnout, it's absolutely incredible"
"In conclusion, I'd like to quote that great political philosopher, Wolfie Smith, and say"
"Power to the people"
Thank you @UB40OFFICIAL @UKTogetherAll 👏

The best away day in the Premier League? 🤔
For the latest episode of Matchdays with Guinness, we headed to the banks of the River Trent. Between visiting the country's oldest pub and mixing with the locals at Navigation brewery, we saw the best that Nottingham has to offer.
