If you’re a cop, you only get 7.5 years if you kill a child by running your car over his body while he was lying on the ground.
Police officer Nazri Razak was sentenced to 7½ years in prison after pleading guilty to culpable homicide not amounting to murder over the 2023 death of a 17-year-old student in Ipoh.
He was initially charged with murder, but the charge was reduced after the prosecution established a prima facie case for the lesser offence.

Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt has been made to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

A bit odd (and perhaps telling) to run an information operation trying to discredit findings on possible Malaysian firms implicated in transboundary haze.
Putrajaya's swiftness in coming to the defence of these companies tells us something about why the 2019 Transboundary Haze Bill just sort of died away in 2020, and why current plans for a new bill will most probably meet the same fate.

The ownership of Prosignal Consortium, the company behind TuJu, has come under scrutiny over its links to political figures and former top government officials.
Malaysiakini found that the company’s website lists Selat Klang assemblyperson Abdul Rashid Asari as an executive director and former IGP Acryl Sani as a non-executive director.
It previously listed Bashah A Aziz and Negeri Sembilan undang Muhammed Abdullah as directors, but their names no longer appear on the website.

The government may consider banning Waze nationwide once local navigation alternatives are ready, said PM Anwar Ibrahim.
He also defended the ban on Waze for civil servants, saying national security cannot be compromised amid concerns over data security and the app’s operations under Israeli law.

Buried on page 30 of 'Sir' David Bellend's report into antisemitism in schools in the UK it explicitly says there hasn't been a rise in antisemitism, only in anti-Israel sentiment. Astonishingly fraudulent crisis/debate, all to shield a genocidal state

Much like the Cass Review, the Bell Review cloaks ready-made conclusions in the guise of pseudo-academic inquiry, only this time the government preempted critique by feeding friendly media agreed lines before anyone could comb through it. The truth is out but the damage is done.

Very interesting timing, given Amnesty International just yesterday released a new, extensive report showing how Palestine solidarity and activism is being severely suppressed in universities.

The U.K. twice suspended a Black politician because she said there's a hierarchy of racism with antisemitism at the top and anti-Blackness at the bottom. Today, the U.K. made antisemitism a distinct form of racism and came out with a 27-point plan!
🚨 NEW: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations from the report to end antisemitism in schools and colleges
1. Recognise antisemitism as a distinct form of hatred, not just general racism
2. Strengthen political impartiality guidance, including limits on teachers wearing pro-Palestine badges
3. Establish a national hotline for school leaders dealing with antisemitism
4. Improve teaching about contemporary antisemitism and modern Jewish life
5. Teach pupils to recognise and challenge antisemitic conspiracy theories
6. Include antisemitism explicitly in school safeguarding policies
7. Train teachers to recognise and tackle antisemitism
8. Work with the Home Office and the Prevent programme to help schools identify when antisemitism may be linked to radicalisation
9. Encourage schools to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism
10. Improve procedures for reporting antisemitic incidents, including signposting
11. Ensure antisemitic bullying and complaints are investigated and acted on consistently
12. Make clear in staff conduct policies that antisemitism is unacceptable
13. Strengthen Holocaust education, including antisemitism's role in the Holocaust, and encourage schools to mark Holocaust Memorial Day
14. Create more opportunities for pupils to engage with Jewish communities, including visits to synagogues
15. Make sure Judaism and modern Jewish life are properly represented in religious education
16. Improve media literacy so pupils can also identify online antisemitism
17. Provide better resources for teaching the Israel-Palestine conflict fairly and sensitively
18. Ensure schools have clear policies for dealing with antisemitism involving external speakers
19. Ensure education unions have clear antisemitism policies
20. Establish a dedicated support service to help schools, colleges and councils deal with antisemitism
21. Use some of the Government's security funding to help Jewish schools and colleges undertake educational visits safely
22. Run a campaign to tackle antisemitic behaviour at transport hubs near Jewish schools and colleges
23. Provide Jewish school and college leaders with mentoring and more security advice
24. Strengthen accountability for schools that fail to deal properly with antisemitism
25. Enable Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate to assess how schools tackle antisemitism
26. Make local councils identify local patterns of antisemitism and help schools respond
27. Share effective practice and guidance between schools and colleges

Haze protection cannot stop at telling Msians to wear masks. Outdoor workers can spend 8hrs or more exposed to polluted air. Delivery riders, construction workers & traffic personnel cannot simply stay indoors. Who is responsible 4 protecting them? @datoramanan

JUST IN: The Registrar of Societies has deregistered Perikatan Nasional.
This is after it found the coalition's reply to its show-cause order to be unsatisfactory.
The deregistration follows a complaint filed by estranged PN party Bersatu that it was not invited to a coalition supreme council meeting on July 16.

The Labour Party has fundamentally miscalculated. In Sheffield and other cities it is now faced with the prospect of collapsing local government because the Greens have criticised Israel.
This is now no longer about the Zionism is racism motion. It's about whether the political/media class has the right to dictate to us what we are allowed to believe.
