What’s the hope that Benny Johnson and Scott Pressler will now just disappear?

We're all paying the price after Republicans increased the cost of living - look no further than an order at Waffle House.

A couple days ago, I posted jobs numbers from the past 6 presidents, 3 Republican (Bush I, Bush II, and Trump) and 3 Democratic (Clinton, Obama, and Biden). Over 20 years, nearly 50 million jobs were added under the 3 Democratic presidents, whereas only 2 million have been added under the aforementioned Republicans, over the course of 17 years, 8 months. A good percentage of MAGA responders said something along the lines of, "The Democrat Party only added government jobs! Look at the private sector!" Very well. First, let's look at public sector or government jobs. George H.W. Bush (R, 4 years): +1.127M Bill Clinton (D, 8 years): +1.934M George W. Bush (R, 8 years): +1.744M Barack Obama (D, 8 years): -263k Donald Trump I (R, 4 years): -575k Joe Biden (D, 4 years): +1.816M Donald Trump II (R, 1 year, 8 months): -230k Democratic Presidents (20 years): +3.487M Republican Presidents (17 years, 8 months): +2.066M Difference: Democrats +1.421M/Republicans -1.421M Not much difference. Now let's move onto the private sector. George H.W. Bush (R, 4 years): +1.502M Bill Clinton (D, 8 years): +20.979M George W. Bush (R, 8 years): -368k Barack Obama (D, 8 years): +11.812M Donald Trump I (R, 4 years): -2.19M Joe Biden (D, 4 years): +13.589M Donald Trump II (R, 1 year, 8 months): +1.006M Democratic Presidents (20 years): +46.380M Republican Presidents (17 years, 8 months): -50k Difference: Democrats +46.430M/Republicans -46.430M That's right, over the past 37 years, 8 months, Republican presidents are actually underwater, as far as private-sector jobs go, whereas Democrats are 46 million+ above it. No matter what the GOP tries to sell you on the old, tired narrative that they're better for the economy, the numbers tell a completely different story. #VoteBlue2026 #VoteBlue26 data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutpu… fred.stlouisfed.org/series/U…

So, the D.C. arch the administration wants to build is now primarily a sniper perch (with massive ammunition and weapons storage) and a drone launching point, and is absolutely critical for national security? They just think the entire country is stupid.

THE FACTS I am amazed at how much they have FAILED their constituents. Never has a Congress had more recess & dead time than these fools. 65 days on floor this year, a whopping 34 bills voted on. Average floor time is 170 days in session. Yeah Mike, they’re burning that candle

BREAKING: GOTCHA! Kaitlan Collins springs the PERFECT TRAP as MAGA Sen. Bernie Moreno attacks Hunter Biden while defending Don Jr.’s Russian-funded wedding! Last night, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno one simple question: Are you comfortable with a Russian oligarch close to Putin spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on celebrations for Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding? Moreno’s answer was pure MAGA deflection – and it handed Collins the perfect opening. “I don’t know who the Russian oligarch is,” Moreno said. “I know that Don Jr. is a great human being, an amazing American, I’m super happy for him and his family that they had a great wedding.” He then tried to shut the whole thing down: “I think this is not the story that is worthy of your show.” Seconds later, Moreno went straight for some classic whataboutism: “Look, you compare Don Jr. to Hunter Biden and you have one that’s a complete drug-addicted degenerate compared to a great human being and successful entrepreneur.”Collins didn’t miss a beat. “Well, I’m glad you bring up Hunter Biden,” she replied. “I mean, if a Russian oligarch had bankrolled some of *his* celebrations, would you have questions about that?” Moreno launched into the usual Burisma and China talking points, but Collins kept pressing: “So you do think it’s appropriate?” When he tried to wave it off as “Hunter Biden stories,” she delivered the kill shot: “Right, but if that’s inappropriate for him, why would this be appropriate?” Moreno had no answer. He suddenly claimed he didn’t know the circumstances and insisted “there’s not a human being in Ohio that really cares about this story.” Here’s what he didn’t want to talk about: Russian billionaire Umar Kremlev, a Putin-linked figure, reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on two nights of celebrations around Don Jr.’s wedding – including a private island and a massive fireworks display. House Democrats have already opened an investigation into the arrangement, citing national-security and public-corruption concerns. Moreno could have simply defended the gift on the merits. Instead he volunteered Hunter Biden as the standard for judging foreign money and influence – then immediately choked when Collins asked him to apply that same standard to the Trump family. And this is exactly what Kaitlan Collins does so well. She didn’t need a speech. She didn’t need to shout Moreno down. She listened to his answer, caught the contradiction he handed her, and refused to let him escape it by changing the subject. When Moreno invoked Hunter Biden as the standard, Collins simply made him live by his own standard he just delineated. That kind of persistence matters. Powerful people rarely volunteer the answer to the question they would rather not be asked, and journalism fails when an interviewer accepts the first deflection and moves along. Collins didn’t. Fearless, savvy and unwilling to be distracted by the shiny object tossed in front of her, she demonstrated the kind of truth-to-power journalism that matters most when the people being questioned would much rather talk about somebody else. If you are grateful for journalists like Collins, please like and share this post.

Jason Duchin We want our fucking country back. Your neighbor is not your enemy. The teacher down the street. The farmer in Iowa. The Black mother in the Bronx. The white guy driving a pickup truck in Kentucky. The immigrant pouring concrete in August. The boy holding another boys hand. The MAHA mom reading the ingredients on a cereal box. None of them is your enemy. We have been sold a magnificent steaming pile of bullshit. We have been told that America is two hungry tribes crouched on opposite sides of a river, sharpening knives, waiting for the opportunity to wade across and murder one another. The great political scam of our time was convincing 340 million people who share a country, schools, roads, rivers, grocery stores, hospitals, fears, children, mortgages, illnesses, dreams and funerals that we have nothing in common. That we are enemies. There is an enormous amount we agree on. We want clean water. Clean air. We don’t want corporations filling our children’s bodies with poison. We don’t want plastic in our oceans, our soil, our blood and our babies. We want food that is actually fucking food. We want our children educated. We want to be able to go to the doctor without wondering whether the bill will bankrupt us. We want a decent job. We want Social Security when we’re old. We want politicians to stop using public office as an ATM. We don’t want political violence. We don’t want our government owned by billionaires. We want our votes to matter. We want a country where the law applies to the rich bastard in the penthouse as surely as it applies to the poor bastard standing before a judge. And while we’re being made afraid of one another, somebody is picking our fucking pockets. The billionaires figured something out before the rest of us did: Anger, fear, loneliness, and resentment are business models. And Donald Trump understood the product better than anybody. Grievance. Barrels and barrels of grievance. Bottle it. Brand it. Sell it. Tell a man whose factory disappeared that an immigrant stole his country. Tell a struggling mother that some other struggling mother is getting something she isn’t. Tell rural America the cities despise them. Tell the cities rural America wants to destroy them. Tell white people Black people are coming for them. Tell Black people every white neighbor is secretly waiting to put them back in chains. Keep everybody suspicious. Keep everybody angry. Keep everybody separated. Rape us one by one. Then watch as Trump and the billionaires walk through the wreckage taking everything. We all see it. Democracy will be saved by finding the places where we already agree and building from there. Citizenship is not a subscription service. Democracy is not something delivered to your doorstep. You don’t get to order it from Amazon. You don’t get to complain that democracy is dying while sitting on the toilet scrolling Instagram. Democracy requires something from us. Time. Courage. Attention. Neighbors. Argument. Forgiveness. Work. And sometimes the willingness to stand up and say No. No, you will not make me hate my neighbor. No, you will not make me afraid of somebody because they pray differently or vote differently or love differently or were born somewhere else. You will not convince me that cruelty is strength. You will not convince me that corruption is patriotism. You will not convince me that billionaires need another tax break while teachers buy their own fucking pencils. No, you will not divide us and then sell off the pieces to the oligarchs. Reimagine the country. Rebuild the democracy. Rework the communities. Find each other again. Fight like hell for the enormous territory we share. Because beneath all the noise and bullshit and algorithms and campaign advertisements, there is still a country here. Ours

What in the sweet, ever loving name of Saturday Night Live is going on in this shit-show? A Bratz doll on animatronic mode, a grandpa past his medication hour, a shaking adderall addict and a female prison warden in a room that looks like a Copper Art store vomited up inside it

I was at Walmart today, minding my own business and checking out the zucchini. A woman walked up next to me with who I assume was her husband. She was wearing a hijab. And then… absolutely nothing happened. She went about her shopping. I went about mine. Her choice to wear a hijab had absolutely zero impact on my day, my freedom, or my ability to buy zucchini. She didn’t tell me I needed to wear one. She didn’t try to force one on me. She didn’t hold me down and put one on my head. I know. Crazy, right? Almost like people can practice their own religion, wear what they choose, and live their lives without forcing everyone else to live the same way. Wild concept.

Born in Detroit to Egyptian immigrant parents, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is a Rhodes Scholar with two doctorates who became Detroit's youngest-ever health director at age 30 before going on to teach epidemiology at Columbia University. Calling him a "radical Islamist" makes you look stupid, not him.

What is chilling is Trump and MAGA ranting about rampant voter fraud across the US for the past 10 years w/o being able to prove enough to have changed ANY election, but Trump is the one on tape in 2021 asking Raffensperger to find him “11,780 votes”. That’s not inducing fraud?

Los Angeles has approximately 3.0 million registered Democrats and 1.2 million registered Republicans. Democrats outnumber Republicans by about 1.8 million voters, or roughly 2.5 to 1. This is one of the major reason Pratt lost in Los Angeles!
