"Riverskin is a bold, evocative debut — The Little Mermaid meets Skellig but with discarded shopping trolleys and techno." 🧜♀️🛒🎵

#Riverskin is a dynamic, dark and distinctive story of self-discovery, belonging and survival which flows with lyricism, a story that completely captivated me as I followed the breath-taking story of the river’s gift. bookcraic.blog/2025/08/04/re… #MikeEdwards @WalkerBooksUK

I can highly recommend Mike's beautiful book. It's set in and around the River Tees, and features our very own local water spirit, Peg Powler.

Wonderful to see Riverskin by @edwardswrite is a BookTrust Book of the Day!
Our #BookOfTheDay is an inspired debut, which has its roots in a Teeside myth but goes so much further than a simple retelling of folklore.
#Riverskin by Mike Edwards is a really compelling read:

"Riverskin is a bold debut and its atmosphere lingers long after the last page — much like the smell of scum on anyone who dares a dip in a British river." @TimesLucy
