Why the make believe? Just own your bigotry instead of playing games.
This is clearly defamatory. Is it @CNN policy to viciously smear someone and not allow them a defense? Do I get to say my piece on your air to counter this defamation or are you giving up any pretenses of objectivity?

Cenk Uygur, who recently suggested Israel did 9/11, is behind the pro-@AbdulElSayed ad that blames Israel for high grocery prices.
Even the cofounder of the PAC funding the ad has denounced it.

Michigan Senate closing argument: blame Israel for everything theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

Actually, if you cut an ad saying Americans are having a tough time buying bananas because we spend 1/10 of 1% of the budget on Israel -- with most of that being funneled back to U.S. defense contractors -- and not a really big storm in the Pacific, you do, in fact, hate Jews.
You think this is a dunk? This is weasel word nonsense. No condemnation of the substance, no demand that it be taken down and it’s from a spokesman, not the candidate. What’s going on here? Does @AbdulElSayed not want to offend his antisemitic supporters?

El-Sayed appeared with Cenk on a panel last month hosted by the Islamic Society of North America, the Muslim Brotherhood-linked group.
There were a couple of other 9/11 truthers there, too.

what was she supposed to say? "Yes I agree that the Jews are to blame for raising the price of bananas?"
BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?”
STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.”
BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.”
STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”

It's funny seeing people who supported the Uncommitted movement get so pissed at Haley Stevens and other Dems for their lukewarm endorsements of Abdul El-Sayed, an Uncommitted backer.

Apparently someone decided there was more rock bottom to hit after the ad with Amy Acton's mom. Not affiliated with El Sayed's campaign but he's certainly not going to disavow it.
I'm not in the "anti-Israel rhetoric is antisemitic" camp but this is pretty bad
But asking the candidate about his family’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood is Islamophobic.
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

If Democrats care about the future of the Democratic Party, they have no choice but to reject Abdul El-Sayed.

Abdul El-Sayed gets cozy with Hamas-loving editor who wants Jews sent "back to Poland."
Osama Siblani urged El-Sayed to "soothe" his Arab supporters in Dearborn during a roundtable discussion at his offices last week, according to video.

The irony that he takes offense at the suggestion of “dual loyalty” when he’s the one who accuses Israel supporters of dual loyalty — an antisemitic trope — and promises “I will not take orders from AIPAC.”
WOW this exchange.
@BretBaier tried to give Abdul El-Sayed a chance to finally explain the 2012 letter in support of the Muslim Brotherhood and Abdul awkwardly tries to speak over him.
This flailing defensiveness is why we’re on week 3 on this issue.

I am a Democrat. I very much want the Democrats to win majorities in both houses of Congress to implement a positive vision for America and counter the illegal actions and abuses of the Trump administration. But the last thing we Democrats should do is support or elect a deeply compromised anti-American bigot like Abdul El-Sayed to the United States Senate.
El-Sayed himself has expressed support for the Muslim Brotherhood. His family is deeply connected to it by their own admission, yet he has lied to the American public about that. He has been unable to distance himself from his campaign partner, Hasan Piker, who believes America deserved 9/11.
Democrats should support credible and patriotic Democratic candidates. We should not support anti-American bigots who would put our party and our nation at risk.
Putting country over party is not easy, but it is the right thing to do for our party and our nation.
