Breaking down the NC legislative maps in today's @TheAssemblyNC Zoom event: Democrats controlling the state Senate is nearly statistically impossible. For them to take control of the state House, they'd need to win 16 of 20 seats that are at least somewhat competitive. #ncpol

Retired local banker who supported Marshall in 2016 for Congress and 2020 for Senate:
โI was Roger's loan officer. I won't vote for him. He gives Trump free rein every time. I voted for him to represent Kansas, not Trump.โ

Could the GOP limit Governor Bottoms's power?
My thoughts: Not much, given the state constitution, which differs from those of other states like North Carolina. But the General Assembly could adopt some legislative curbs on statutory authority. #gapol

Lisa Murkowski endorses Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, the Democratic candidate for Alaska governor
Georgia has very rarely elected Black people to statewide partisan office who weren't incumbents. I think the list is literally Mike Thurmond in 1998, Raphael Warnock in 2020/2021, and Alicia Johnson last year.
The list might get longer if you consider the twenty-four judges who are elected statewide in nonpartisan races, but it's fairly rare for a judge to be elected statewide without having previously been appointed to the office.

The Georgia Supreme Court just ruled that local Republican leaders cannot impose political loyalty tests to decide who gets to run in GOP primaries, rejecting an attempt by a far-right group that tried to block four candidates from running.
โItโs a shame that it took the Supreme Court to explain that voters get to choose candidates, not party insiders,โ said Steven Henry, one of the candidates who sued. #gapol

El-Sayed campaign statement: "This ad is not affiliated in any way with the Abdul for Senate campaign. Abdul is focused on pushing back against Trumpโs agenda that is raising prices for Michiganders. No one speaks for Abdul but himself and his campaign." #MISEN
This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing peopleโs health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.
