This is what happens when you have a State Superintendent of Education who received a Masters Degree (almost magically) in a custom made 6 week program just so she could qualify for office. As a State Representative, I am truly pissed. All these classic literary books politicians removed from school libraries. Schools can’t teach about real American history, like slavery or what happened to the true Native Americans because it’s a painful truth. Got teachers scared to even teach true historical events out of fear of criminal charges, but THIS type of material is just fine? The state WANTS teachers and students to use this stuff in school? Goofies.

I don't cry easily, but as the dad of a teenage son with autism, ADHD & anxiety issues, watching Tim Walz's 17-year-old son(who has a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD & anxiety disorder)standing up, crying & pointing to the stage telling everyone "that's my dad" just gutted me

“Show me where the Bible says the government should use my taxes to help the poor.”
This is said to me quite often whenever I post about how I believe every institution should prioritize the needs of the poor and most vulnerable among us.
So let me post a response here. (🧵)

It’s only for elementary
The kids destroy the markers
The markers die
Passing out takes too long
They draw on them
No record of learning

Dear news media —
You’re failing this country with your coverage leading up to the 2024 election.
1️⃣ Stop reporting on Biden‘s age w/out reporting on Trump’s. They’re only 3 years apart and Trump is showing clear signs of cognitive decline. Report on that!
2️⃣ Stop confusing being balanced with being honest. Both sides have their problems, but it is simply false to say that both sides are equally to blame.
3️⃣ Stop normalizing fascism. When Trump calls for arresting journalist or says shit like, “poisoning the blood of our country” — call it out for what it is.
So as we begin the New Year — be on the side of the truth & democracy or we ALL lose. Thank you!
