The Student List movement began after the collapse of a canopy on a public building project in 2024. It is described as a "leaderless movement" aimed at getting rid of Vucic who was blamed for presiding over corruption in these public projects. By the same standard FFG could be overthrown by a similar movement in Ireland due to the National Children's Hospital fiasco or the funnelling of billions to cronies through IPAS or other public contracts but this will never happen. And Why? Because they are in alignment with the Atlanticist ruling establishment and Vucic, whatever his faults and failings, was a problem for them. That is the only reason the Student List movement was allowed to gain momentum and it is the only reason that every Atlanticist is celebrating this victory today.
I congratulate The Student List for its victory in the Serbian election, following a record turnout. As Presidency of the EU, Ireland stands ready to support Serbia in its efforts to strengthen institutions, the rule of law and democracy.

The left wing in Ireland being the useful idiots for big business as per usual.

Leftists will insist that Soros is simply a bogey man for the right wing whilst declaring that other billionaires like Musk are controlling politics through their money. The root of this error is found in late nineteenth and early twentieth century definitions of imperialism as a political takeover of government by private capital interests. The problem with this thesis is that it ignores the role of institutions and the pursuit of geopolitical objectives outside of personal enrichment. Even the actions of nineteenth century imperialists were as much ideological and geopolitical as the were economic. Some anti-imperialists such as Leonard Woolf came to recognise this later in life. When leftists insist that Soros and his father are merely bogey men it ignores the context of their philanthropy and their membership of a Western ruling class with objectives beyond economics that stretches across many categories of institution. They are working towards goals that are not fully comprehendible through the narrow lenses that most Western critics have been trained to consider history and politics.
Lula Lula Lula! Congrats to Brazil for standing up against authoritarianism once again! 🇧🇷 ⚖️✌️

Interesting reading. 61 percent of respondents did not deliver on its commitment to prioritise workers. More and more people seeing through the spin from FG & FF while they do the bare minimum on tax every year, ignore impact of inflation and increase public spending.
Irish anti-establishment votes have generally gone to left wing parties, with Sinn Féin especially attracting dissatisfied voters during the last Dáil term. Now they are not. businesspost.ie/politics/air…

We have loads of skilled workers in Ireland. Why are we undercutting their wages and creating more competition for them by importing huge amounts of cheap foreign labour ?

This is ironic because most of the men who have killed women in Ireland this year are foreign men educated in foreign countries.
Yet another woman killed violently in Ireland. This will continue until we educate our boys and young men about the consequences of misogyny ⬇️ Man arrested after woman found dead in Dublin rte.ie/news/dublin/2026/1026…

It's easy. As part of a contract the utility companies who dig up the streets has to leave them as they found them.
York cobblestones. 2006 vs 2026. Well maintained in 2006. Can’t be arsed to maintain properly and just plaster with tarmac patches in 2026. British civic pride decay in a nutshell.

Now state money going into the hands of developers to take private homes off the market and hand them over to foreigners on benefits. The whole thing is complete insanity.
IPAS was always a property scam. State money used, initially, to rescue those friends of the government still struggling with debts from the Crash, then everyone wanted a go, and it became a free for all. If you thought IPAS was genuinely doing good in the world, you were had.

Why not O'Cathain Country then.
There is always that one person that will try to politicise everything - And this time it's a senior BBC employee. The County is Londonderry, the name it has held since 1613 - If he wanted to be historically accurate he could have given it it's former name of County Coleraine.

Was chatting with an Indian colleague who told me that Indian people in Ireland find it very difficult to live in shared houses. They're used to living with their family members and not this Irish way he said. He appeared genuinely shocked when I said this isn't the Irish way of living. He seemed to believe Irish people have a tradition or culture of living in house shares with non-family. Ironic that the more Indians come to Ireland, the more Irish and Indian people are forced into this unnatural and immiserating arrangement.

Eh..we voted against the Lisbon Treaty, but the political elite were conspiring with Brussels to overturn that vote, before the count was final. The electorate voted for it on the 2nd attempt because by that time, the economy was collapsing, and the voters were much more fearful
This is pure bull-Ireland was not bullied into Lisbon Treaty. Irish Government & Parliament decided to put issue to Irish people again & the Irish voted for it. There is no pressure on IRL to drop the Trimble lock. Defencelessness is not a policy & Ireland is just irrelevant
