Y’all are both kinda missing the mark from different angles. You’re trying to change the meaning of narrative consequences when it has no bearing on the overall quality of the story and that other person is treating “consequences” as an indicator of quality for some reason

Thats NOT to say it’s irrelevant. It’s the foundation of his character and beginning of his arc afterall. It just isn’t an example of NARRATIVE consequences.
And that is not a bad thing by any means. Y’all shouldn’t be taking this as a criticism.

How can a planet's spirit reincarnate if it's not dead? And the planet defending itself is kinda overdone. Wan just being a good natured human who meddled in something way beyond him then rising to meet it anyway to fix his own mistakes is way more thematic and interesting.

masculinity not having any meaning of its own outside of being a constant effort towards not-being-feminine will never not be funny
