The MK Party continues to lead in KwaZulu-Natal as the vote count approaches completion.
With 90.3% of voting districts reporting, the provincial ward ballot results are:
MKP: 33.7% IFP: 22.2% ANC: 21.1% DA: 12.2% EFF: 1.9% ActionSA: 1.0%
The IFP remains narrowly ahead of the ANC provincially.
eTHEKWINI
With 64.1% of voting districts reporting, the picture is:
MKP: 40.1% DA: 23.8% ANC: 16.9% IFP: 7.2% ActionSA: 2.5% EFF: 1.8%
The MKP remains substantially ahead in eThekwini, although its vote share has declined as more results have come in. The DA has strengthened its position in second place.
The final council seat allocation will determine whether a coalition is required to govern the metro.
These are provisional ward-ballot results, not final council seat allocations. The underlying snapshots were recorded at 18h21 provincially and 18h14 in eThekwini.
