We present a “gate-defined electron interferometer”, a new member of the family of graphene devices.
Using field-effect only, our device lets the electron divide into two paths and meet again.
This enables us to observe a beautiful quantum interference!

Writing in @ScienceMagazine, the @ETH_physics group of Klaus Ensslin and Thomas Ihn, working with colleagues @UTPhysics & @NIMS_PR, report the observation that in twisted double-bilayer graphene two electrical conductors can team up to form an insulator.

The Ensslin group finished second in the yearly football tournament at @ETH_physics, loosing the final to @qudev 2-1. This was anyway the best team and supporters I could dream of! @fkdevries1 Congratulations to @AndreasAtETH for the win and thanks to #AMP for the organisation!
