Externality is a license to do the worst possible thing.
Do you want to spend the rest of your life building tech for big enterprises?
– Pharma?
– HCPs?
– CROs?
Or for communities?
• Who know what their people need,
• What they care about,
• And what they’re willing to protect?
Danny Lieberman retweeted
You can get pretty damn far in life by just being someone who cares. Cares to push a little bit more, to do the little bit extra, to show up with a little more energy.
It doesn’t require talent or intelligence.
There’s a lot of upside in that, simply because so few will do it.

I give the Irish no quarter in their hatred of Jews, half my family come from farm labourers in northern Ireland. That half of my family denied my existence until I was five years old because I’m a Jew. Ireland can fuck itself.

Palestinians are basically Levantine vesion of Ulster unionists. Colonial settlers posing as an oppressed ethnic minority. The difference is the genius idea of Palestinians to proclaim themselves as
Separate ethnicity, to descise imperialism as national liberation struggle.

This is a tweet for the Irish.
Most Irishmen I speak with on Twitter claim that they support the Palestinians because the Palestinian struggle reminds them of their own struggle against the British. Let’s assume they’re arguing in good faith and not just using this story as a fig leaf to cover their prejudice. This analogy is still deeply flawed and profoundly unflattering for the Irish.
Here’s why:
First of all, the Irish people were a tiny nation fighting for freedom against the largest empire in human history. The Palestinians are Arabs, part of a huge colonizing entity, who fight against a tiny Jewish minority in its midst.
Even if you look just at the region called Palestine, Arabs are still the majority in it. While the Irish fought the British alone, the Palestinians were always part of a huge Muslim coalition that attempted to destroy the state of Israel.
For example, during the current war, Israel has been attacked by at least five other nations, all fighting to destroy it. When were the Irish supported by such a wide international coalition? Who but the Irish fought for the Irish?
When you’re siding with the Arabs, you’re siding with the majority, not the minority. You’re supporting the empire, not the rebels.
Secondly, the Irish fought for a state beside Britain, not instead of Britain. The creation of an Irish state didn’t require the destruction of any existing state, nor the killing or expulsions of millions of people. Imagine that the Irish didn’t claim just their island, but also demanded that all non-Celts "went back" to Europe? The British would have obliterated the Irish people then. The Irish would have left them with no other choice. This is exactly the position that Israel is in.
Finally, even though the Irish engaged in armed struggle against the British that sometimes hurt civilians, they never came anywhere near the absolute barbarity of the Palestinian Arabs. The Irish never massacred entire classrooms full of children, didn’t send suicide bombers to blow up youth clubs, didn’t shatter the skulls of babies with rocks, or paraded around with mutilated human bodies. At no point in modern history, did the Irish launch anything even remotely resembling the atrocities of October 7.
To equate your struggle with the Palestinian struggle is to equate yourself with a barbaric, genocidal horde in the service of an empire of dark age fanaticism.
Is this really who you are?

There were many great talks at Lenny's summit, but my favorite was from @scottbelsky.
Scott dropped so much wisdom in 20 minutes that it should've been illegal. 5 of my favorites:
1. You should only do half of what you want to do. Reducing features, tabs, offerings, and audiences compounds your chances of achieving P/M fit.
2. Data is a compass, not a map. Vision and intuition help you identify the right mountain, while data helps you reach the top.
3. The best way to review a product experience is to ask three questions - "How did I get here?" "What do I do now?" and "Where do I go next?"
4. Marketing and copy should be born with (or in) the product team. They are integral parts of the product experience.
5. Product is people. A product is ultimately the presentation of a team’s DNA, and the apple falls close to the tree.
I'm very grateful to @lennysan and @coda_hq for hosting the best product summit I attended all year.

I've paid far more attention to Kamala than I ever imagined I would with a presidential candidate, listening to her interviews, speeches, and so on.
I suspect that many people, even people who are her partisans, are realizing something quite shocking. It's this: she knows less about policy, news, existing public controversies, and even recent history, than most people who read X or NYT or even just listen to the news on radio or TV. For that matter, I suspect that just about any person on the street knows more.
It's like she hasn't really paid much attention to anything for years. Interviewers are trying their best to be kind to her, but even the slightest bit of push on what she knows turns up a big nothing. It's not that she is being cagey or clever. The trouble is that she truly does not know.
It's hard to understand why. It could be that she has, for most of her career, been able to outsource knowledge and understanding to others. She has always just been a smiling face, the socializer, the spouter of bromides, and gotten by with faking it. After a while, it probably doesn't feel like faking; it feels like this is the way the job is supposed to be. She has not known any other way.
Now she is expected to play the part of someone who knows some minimum something about a range of issues, and she simply cannot deal with it. What's remarkable is that her champions are as mortified by this as anyone.

Israel uncovered an Iranian spy network made up of seven immigrants from Azerbaijan, including a father and son. The suspects allegedly conducted around 600 espionage operations for Iran, gathering intelligence on IDF bases later targeted in Iran’s missile attacks. They also spied on IDF Headquarters in Tel Aviv and Iron Dome batteries.
