I don't believe you need programming knowledge in order to get started into algo trading, however having a slight idea of how software should be built and organised can make things much easier.
For example - I have tested hundreds of strategies ( largely found from online, on X, different trading forums etc ) and from those , have a handful which I think can "work".
Something I've been working on is actually :
1. Extracting out the individual components of each of those strategies
2. Categorising those components into sections
2. Combining these components into different strategies.
Chances are, if Strategy A and Strategy B work on their own, then some combination of their logic should work too.
I've written about this briefly, but how I organise my algos are :
1. Entry signals
2. Exit Signals
3. Filters
Its by no means perfect or complete, but it gives me a nice opportunity to test different combinations of things I think may work.
OpenAI single handly managed to make bunch of anti-social math nerds come out to the world and start socialising.

Introducing LSE Terminal, an open source agentic AI IDE for quantitative finance. Market data is integrated via LSE Data directly into the platform.
We created Veron, our AI agent trained with native visual understanding of the terminal. Veron can interpret what is happening on screen and directly access the terminal’s quantitative functions, making it the first agent of its class built specifically for quantitative finance.
Brokerage connectivity runs through Brue, our adapter layer for standardising external broker integrations.
Actually really enjoyed blizzcon opening ceremony this year. I grew up on blizzard games.
Regarding actual releases or announcements I was expecting something else.
However people who were responsible for different panels you could really see it was very emotional for them to be on stage and this was a very good sign for me.
Really looking forward for Diablo V and new starcraft game. Yes... it will come in few years but I think people working on it actually want to deliver best product possible.
Blizzard has changed, but I believe due to people behind it we will still get quality entertainment.
Gonna defo try new warcraft 3 campaign. Will it be amazing. I dont know, but I will enjoy it because im old and I grew up on W3 so just nostalgic part of it will make me enjoy it when waiting for Diablo V and starcraft.
Knowledge should be free.
No matter where you live, what language you speak. Every single person should have access to free education.
What bothers me is that somewhere there in the world there might be a person who potentially develop cure for all diseases, but due to circumstances they were born it will never happen.

PropQuantX Rampart aka "TradeX Scalper ORB" is now free.
Both versions are up — TradingView (Pine Script) and NinjaTrader 8 (C#), full source included.
Download it now in my discord, run it, and change whatever you want. Make it better.
Will you let them get away with this? @thsottiaux
When i was much younger and started one of my first jobs for big polish entrepreneur this is how he explained to me difference between left and right in a nut-shell:
The right tends to accept that for some people to have a better life, others will inevitably have less.
The left tends to believe that if those who have more give up a little, often so little they barely notice it, that can significantly improve the lives of those who have less.
My ORB MNQ strategy for NT8. It uses 1min charts for data, but trades based on 15min break outs. 1 trade per day. 3 different risk profiles.

Another collection of open-source trading resources I came across.
It’s a pretty big mix of:
• trading strategies
• indicators
• backtesting/research tools
• market data projects
• libraries and utilities you might not even know exist
Some are ready-to-use strategies, others are better treated as examples or building blocks.
Either way, there’s a lot here to learn from, especially if you’re building your own systematic/algo trading research stack.
Another rabbit hole worth bookmarking 👇

The Chinese open-source community has a very special place in my heart. Over the last few years, the amount of open-source research across different fields that people have shared with the rest of the world has been outstanding.
Today I came across this repository containing over 5,000 trading strategies, indicators, and code snippets, all shared openly for everyone to explore and learn from.
I don’t know the author’s X handle, if he has one, but this is his repository:
github.com/fmzquant/strategi…
Repost it. Share it. The amount of alpha collected there and then made freely available to everyone is crazy. ❤️❤️❤️
Another long term strategy experiment, report is a bit buggy due to many years of data in the table. This will be another strategy released on discord when ready. In theory it should support many instruments and be treated as something long term for portoflio. Start once, and forget about it.
Idea is already validated, now time to refine it.
How can you now love this man unconditionally?
So much things to build, so little time.
We are reseting usage for all paid users of Codex and ChatGPT Work.
Please continue reading for an update on Codex usage limits. The team has been working around the clock, going through thousands of reports and shipping fixes.
Depending on how you use Codex, you should see your usage go between 10% and 50% further than before.
We really went with a fine comb, with many uncovered small things being longstanding and here is what we found and fixed:
- Compaction. We were keeping old images during compaction, sometimes making the context large enough to trigger compaction again. After the fix, usage dropped around 10% for users making heavy use of images. Fixed.
- Memory. Background memory workers could inherit Stop hooks and keep running when the hook wouldn’t let them finish. This affected fewer than 1% of users, with the long tail being pretty bad and we saw one example thread check whether it could stop 15,000 times. Fixed.
- Goals. In some cases, a set /goal could finish and then keep going past the intended stop condition, or the model would keep retrying broken tools without stopping. We saw examples consume anywhere from 15% to 70% of a weekly allowance. Fixed.
- Automations. Some custom schedules could run more frequently than configured. Fixed.
- Subagents. Smaller models (e.g. Luna) sometimes picked more capable helpers without being explicitly asked. The same was true where the orchestrating model not running in /fast mode could request sub-agents to run /fast. Fixed.
- Computer History. The older implementation could lead to repeatedly summarizing overlapping activity. For some cases we saw it consume up to one fifth of the weekly usage per week. Fixed.
- Rolling task summaries. Ordinary turns were triggering extra background requests. These added about 1% to token usage. Small each time, but it adds up. We have disabled this.
- MCP. Some tool results could be encoded twice. We also found tool instructions getting cut off and fetched again. Fixed.
We’ve also made architectural changes to prevent these from regressing and our teams will get paged if it happens regardless. We are also working on showing you directly in the app where your usage goes so you don’t have to guess.
Goes without saying that we’re resetting usage limits and I hope you enjoy a very nice Saturday!
Hvil i fred, Kong Harald. 🇳🇴
When i wrote about why opensource is great when it comes to strategy development.
Initial idea by @MrMilkTrading then some more alpha from @etbent1
+ few of my own twists.
Long term trading strategy. Calculation is based on 10k initial balance and 1 MNQ contract per trade. changes reduced amount of trades, but as an effect reduced coin flips, what resulted in improved Net profit + lower DD.
