Awesome video @jacercooks!!
91,250 children die from cancer annually (about 250 per day).
We were given a challenge at @alpha_founders: raise at least $200 to help kids with cancer.
Even $10 could help. If you can’t donate, the least you could do is repost this for someone who can. zeffy.com/en-US/fundraising/…
$3k in a weekend??
Our students kicked off their fundraising challenge for our November community service event.
They’re raising money for @TheKccf, and we’ll be helping pack some gift bags for children battling cancer next weekend.
The catch: we gave them 72 hours to raise the funds. A few of them already hit their fundraising goal by midday today!
Turns out teaching teens sales skills translates to them being pretty good at collecting $$$
If you see them on your feed posting about it, consider donating. It’s for a great cause!
Oh, and to the students: here’s another carrot. If you each raise over $1k, Sam and I will shave our heads.
The best way to build an audience (and as a result, a business) is to give insane value away for free.
Literally a step by step guide to make $10k before christmas.

As an @Alphaschool student for the past 7 years, I’d love to clear up some misconceptions:
“Alpha kids spend hours on screens every day.”
Alpha School: ~2 hours a day learning on screens.
Average public school: ~98 minutes a day on screens.
The numbers are close, so screen time isn’t really a fair criticism of Alpha specifically.
“Replacing teachers with AI is what no parent wants.”
Alpha doesn’t use AI chatbots to teach. In fact, they are banned during academic time!!!
The lessons are designed by learning scientists, and AI mostly works in the background.
Teachers become guides, which gives them more time to build relationships with students and coach each one individually.
Arguably, Alpha is more human than other schools.
TIL Texas Governor-elect @GinaHinojosaTX isn't just against school choice, she’s strongly against @Alphaschool, saying "If we have a generation of kids being taught by AI instead of teachers, we will raise a generation of sociopaths instead of productive citizens."
Matt came by and ran a terrific workshop on email tactics for the students.
So awesome having deeply tactical experts in front of our students to help them level up. There will never be a college-level textbook that can provide the same level of value.
Thanks for the session @mattragland!
Today @mnt_rushmore became the first @alpha_founders student to cross the $10k revenue mark.
We had him hit the sales gong 10 times in celebration.
Earlier in the day, he passed his negotiation final test, navigating a tough role play scenario using Chris Voss’ techniques. I didn’t give him an easy time, and he held his own.
Can’t wait to see what his revenue dashboard looks like in a year from now.
One of the best feelings one can experience in NYC:
Not breaking stride when descending the stairs directly into the open doors of the subway which arrived at the station at the same time as you.
Bonus if the train car you enter is nearly empty.
Spending time with my 3-month-old nephew this past weekend reminded me:
It was the news 1 yr ago of my sister’s pregnancy which sent me down the rabbit hole learning about @Alphaschool, concerned about the future of education.
He’s the reason I became Alpha-pilled, and now spend my days at @alpha_founders
The biggest negotiation hack Chris Voss (@fbinegotiator) shared with our students during his visit to @alpha_founders this afternoon:
“Seems like you have a reason for (saying/asking) that.”
Amazing uno reverse card for when you’re facing a tough question mid convo.
So cool to watch a master at work.
Peak life moment: getting to watch our students negotiate with @fbinegotiator himself.
Never Split the Difference is the book that has single-handedly made me the most $. I’ve always considered myself lucky to have read it as early in my life/career as I fortunately did.
An unreal feeling to watch our students get to lock in their negotiation skills by drilling with the mastermind behind the tactics.
Thanks for coming in, Chris!
Grok @bot really needs a multiplayer mode where I can just have my bot message someone else’s bot directly instead of sending a message to the human for them to share with their bot.
Unless there is a better way today I’m not aware of?
The only instruction manual you need to make your life 10x better this weekend.
If you're new to using Grok Bot, start by having it interview you using this exact prompt:
"Interview me so you can set up my first two bots. Ask one question at a time and keep it to five questions or fewer: what I do, which tools I use every day, what eats up my week, what I'd never want you to touch, and when I want to hear from you."
In 2 minutes, your bot will propose two custom bots, each with:
• A specific job
• The tools it needs
• A scheduled routine
• A strict "never do" line
And before it builds anything, it walks you through exactly what each one will do on its first run.
That's only step one.
The full guide we wrote takes you from that first setup to a team of bots using connectors, routines, skills, APIs, and bot-to-bot messaging.
Read the full guide here.
