Gas, groceries, and no new wars. That’s what Trump ran on in 2024. He failed at all 3. Spoiler. The Dems that won last night won’t focus on those things either. The next 2 years will be all about impeachment. Spoiler 2. Neither party will help us. Your wallet is still screwed

Jesus' blood does not constitute a down payment toward some legalistic layaway plan. There are no more payments to be made, and there is no purgatory to work off the balance. "It is finished."
Catholics, reminder: You can free a soul from purgatory every day this week. From Nov 1–8, the Church grants a plenary indulgence, applicable to the souls in purgatory, each day you: 1. Visit a cemetery and pray for the dead (even silently) 2. Go to confession (within about 20 days before or after) 3. Receive Holy Communion 4. Pray for the Pope's intentions (an Our Father and Hail Mary is enough) 5. Be detached from all sin, even venial Today only (All Souls Day): you can also gain one by visiting a church and praying the Our Father and the Creed. One confession covers the whole week. Communion and the prayer for the Pope are needed for each day's indulgence. And if you're not fully detached from sin, you still gain a partial indulgence. So go anyway. Repost this to spread the word. The souls in purgatory need our help.

I miss the days of civility in politics.
Alexander Hamilton was shot and killed by Vice President Aaron Burr during a pistol duel in New Jersey on this day in 1804.

The moral argument against a wealth tax is simple: Your wealth is not a public resource simply because other people are envious of it. If it was earned voluntarily and without violating anyone's rights, others have no moral claim to it.
The Right’s response to a wealth tax is always “but it won’t work!” What I find interesting is that there is rarely an attempt to argue against it on moral grounds, because they know most people find such wealth inequality utterly grotesque. There is overwhelming public support for doing something about this - I mean, LOOK at that polling👇👀 So, why don’t we crack on with the most effective and practicable ideas? We know that a proportional property tax, while a bit less flashy, actually works, so let’s start there! @FairerShare

Shelly, I can’t seem to spot the increase in heatwaves on this chart. Can you help me?
Former NOAA chief scientist: “The stresses that we see today are only going to get worse because heat waves like this ten years from now will be over 40C.” Or you can believe Big Oil.

This may be hard for people who are not my skin tone, Jewish, or just decent humans to grasp, but the line was the Nazi tattoo. The “new information was brought to light” posts don’t absolve you. They just mean you arrived late to what was always blatantly obvious.

Mine weren't sufficiently troubling or serious for you, right?
The allegations against Graham Platner are troubling and deeply serious. I am rescinding my endorsement.

When people find out I only drink decaf coffee (doctor’s recommendation, sorry) they ask me how I get going in the morning, and I ask them if they’re familiar with the Holy Ghost.

Just another reminder that if you want conservative values to win, then exercise them in your home. Get married, have kids, don’t let the socialists educate them and we win in one generation, because the left despises the very institutions necessary for strong family growth.

250 years ago, on July 2nd, 1776, the Second Continental Congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain. John Adams wrote to his wife the next day: “The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.—I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” Well, not quite. On July 4th, the delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence — and that has been the day for celebrations ever since.

Remember: the Somalian who was born to illegal immigrant parents 23 years ago has a "birthright" to be in this country. But you are an invader who has no right to be here, even though your family has been in this country for 200 years. This is what the Left actually believes.

Well the Supreme Court has made their decision…and apparently 5 of the justices think the authors of the 14th amendment clearly meant anyone could randomly show up illegally, have a baby, and that suddenly meant citizenship. We should now move to significantly cut all immigration, and significantly reduce visas. Look, I wanted to be reasonable. But reason doesn’t seem to work for some people, so now we have to take more drastic measures. It’s a shame really, but that’s where we are.

Finalizing budget review/vetoes and I can report: FY 26-27 will be the fourth straight year that Florida has reduced its budget. Rainy day fund = full (and more than triple the size from 2019). The budget represents 44% of the size of the budget of New York (the state closes to FL in population, with NY having between 3 and 4 million fewer residents).
