The four crew members served with the Brody Aviation Brigade, based in Ukraine's Lviv region.
The heroic crew members who received Ukraine's highest state honor were:

Their final combat mission took place on the night of June 30, 2026, near Poltava. That night, Russia once again launched a massive attack against Ukrainian cities, deploying large numbers of long-range Shahed attack drones.
Flying in darkness at extremely low altitudes, the Ukrainian crew was carrying out a combat mission when they detected enemy drones heading toward densely populated areas. Thanks to the pilots' professionalism and the precise actions of the aerial gunner, they successfully destroyed two large Russian drones. Each of those drones could have caused destruction, fires, and the deaths of innocent civilians.
But while attempting to intercept additional targets, a third enemy drone struck their helicopter.
☝️ It is important to understand that intercepting high-speed drones from a helicopter is an extraordinarily dangerous mission. Limited visibility, flying at extremely low altitudes, and the risk of colliding with debris demand exceptional skill, precision, and split-second reactions from every crew member.
These four Ukrainian aviators knowingly risked their lives to protect others.
On October 19, 2026, the President of Ukraine signed decrees posthumously awarding each of them the title of Hero of Ukraine, along with the Order of the Gold Star.

Reports from Burlington’s ICE facility are deeply troubling.
A pregnant woman banged on her cell door for help after days in pain. Another woman was denied medication.
The facility was meant to hold them for hours, not days or weeks.

This is 78-year-old Pastor Edward Nalwamba.
He fled persecution in Uganda for his pro-democracy beliefs and has spent decades living and preaching in America.
ICE detained him for 13 months.
Today, ahead of his release, our staff visited the detention facility and asked GEO staff to let him call his caretakers and provide a wheelchair to get him to his ride home. He cannot walk.
GEO staff assured us they would do both. They failed to deliver on either.
No phone call.
No wheelchair.
No human decency.
There is no excuse for this cruelty. None.
While we are celebrating Pastor Nalwamba’s release, we will not stop holding those responsible for this accountable.
