Were you in Newport Beach on the Fourth of July? I’m trying to piece together what actually happened.
On July 4, 2026, Newport Beach celebrations turned chaotic, with reports of fights, fireworks being thrown, police declaring an unlawful assembly, and a major incident later near the Pavilions on West Balboa Boulevard.
I’m looking for firsthand accounts only from people who were actually there, especially around:
32nd Street and the beach around 4:00 PM
26th Street and the beach around 8:00–8:30 PM
Pavilions / 3100 block of West Balboa Boulevard around 10:00 PM
Balboa Peninsula traffic closures later that night
