My chauffeur of several years asked me: What is going on in the Tata fight??
I said: The Tatas hired someone like you for their car. They wanted to go to Pune. But the driver wanted to go to Alibaug. So the driver took the car to Alibaug and said: Now the car is mine.
I hope he does not get ideas.

This is nothing personal. It’s just business. Let’s break it down. Starlink device surfaced in India’s recent 6,000kg meth bust. Another was seized alongside weapons in Manipur. China hasn’t approved Starlink. Why should India compromise national security? Access must come with safeguards against smugglers and terrorists. Don’t you agree?
Dear Prime Minister Ambani,
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
Thank you 🙏
IT - Stocks of Indian IT Services companies have been mercilessly hammered due to lack of growth. PE now compressed to mid teens even for haloed Bluechips. AI needs manpower that understands the transformation unfolding and how to leverage it. Tough to pick winners here.
Gold & Silver - Correcting after a stellar run up. $ 3600/oz an excellent entry level for Gold. Very bullish on LT. Since we cannot catch the bottom, better to do a SIP for 12 months. Follow the same for Silver, $ 54/oz a great entry price. I have a bias for Gold.
FMCG - All FMCG stocks at 3-5 year lows on high input costs, not so much due to a fall in profits but due to PE compression from sky high levels. HUL, Colgate, Tata Consumer all badly hit. Not too much downside but further time correction means regaining ATH an ardous journey.
Metals - Aluminium has topped out for the ST and Copper very close to a durable Top. I do not recommend any investment in industrial metals at these levels, or related stocks. Bounces can trap bulls.
All cement stocks are in the dumps and at 52 Wk lows on higher costs but no pricing power. Real Estate stocks also corrected heavily due to inventory buildup and resistance to higher prices. Avoid any investment in apartments for atleast one year.
Hdfc Bank (707.25) - Lowest weekly close in 32 months, price lower than five years ago. Technicals are showing +ve divergence. Very little downside here, risk reward in its favour. I am a buyer at this level for LT. Not a trading stock.

Dear Elon @elonmusk
You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago.
As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts.
It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi )
But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector.
Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable.
#OSTA
✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition.
✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted.
✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust.
I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles.
so todays India is not that old crony driven India.
I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum.
Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust.
I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt.
But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.
Nifty (22482) - Looks like worried quarters in New Delhi have asked big Daddy LIC to step in and stem the free fall in the stock market. Valiant attempt visible today with buying focused on Nifty counters. Enjoy till it lasts.

Heard this today from a smart European:
Europe has subcontracted security to America. Its economy to China. Energy to Russia and its labor force to the Islamists.
This model now has completely collapsed.
Very sad saga playing out sponsored and backed by very powerful forces, the Directors of Tata Sons, RBI & Charity Commissioner merely pawns & tools in this devious game.

42 medal events in swimming
20 in Cycling
15 in Judo
15 in karate
11 in Taekwando
15 in Wushu
If we start competing in these, we'd leave S Korea behind. Maybe even Japan.
I think Taekwondo is the lowest hanging fruit here. Simple sport. People can be easily trained in this

Revamp Tata Sons board:
How can the board of two independent and two professional directors who own nil shares voted against a two-thirds owner and carried the day against him?
What’s their real agenda: Prise #TataSons out of the hands of a member of the founding family? This must stop. Tata Trusts owns two-thirds of Tata Sons. How can any board defy a majority owner and act against their express wishes?
What Noel Tata should do? Revamp the board of Tata Sons and change the Articles of Association that made this attempted coup possible.
“The argument that #Tatas are a national institution so #Noel cannot protect the legitimate interest of the founding family is hogwash.”
“The idea that an unlisted #TataSons presents a systemic risk to the Indian economy or India's global image is laughable.”

🚨BREAKING: 🇷🇺Russian President Putin praises 🇮🇳India's uniqueness & unity, says it should be used as an example to build relations between different countries
«India never fails to amaze with its scale & diversity. Few people know that, PM Modi told me that one and a half billion people, 600 million Indians, speak their native language, Hindi. And the majority speak their own languages, & everyone lives together. Amazing! This cannot but amaze. There is something in Indian culture that is so unique that it can certainly be used as an example. Uniqueness & unity at the same time»
«And this is how, in my opinion, including by focusing on what is happening in India, we can build relations between different countries, with different cultures, with different histories, with different traditions»
