not sure it reflects well on our democracy if those who we elect to represent us instead choose to close ranks and defend incompetent legislation because “oooooh she’s my mate oooooh vibes cover your ears don’t listen to them they’re all toof faced sneks hun xx”
My friend @Jess4Lowestoft is a hero and a champion for women and children’s safety every single day. Disagree with her if you want, she can take it. But the horrific character attacks this week should give us all pause about what our politics has become Proud of you Jess x

A mumsnet occupied government that believes you're guilty until proven innocent. 'If you have nothing to hide, you won't mind being watched' Good point lets go ask Mandelson or Andrew about that...
Kissing could get a 2 year custodial sentence for 'somewhat restricting airflow' while the gov rolls at facial recognition for a group of people NOT on the database? Its never about protecting women and children. Its always about overreaching further everyday.

She replied to a tweet thanking a transphobe, who said that anyone who disagreed was a “sexual deviant” or “a pick me girl”, clearly referring to feminists & sex workers critiquing her & gay men, she is not a friend to anyone in the LGBT+ !

Is there another profession wherein people paid £100,000 a year can be so poorly educated on the issues they work on without being fired? Would be funny if this wasn’t literally someone who helped shape this extremely stupid law. Unfortunately while Asato will be but a blip in the collective histories of these Isles, her and her cohort of fellow legislators have brought about a constricting of freedoms that will exist long after they all leave.

That is exactly what should be left to courts and experts to prove. All legislation requires interpretation alongside the facts of the case and the intention of the law. This is designed to ensure that harmful practices are discouraged.

What consenting adults do in their own bedrooms is of no concern of yours, nor is it the concern of the state. The fact that this law was allowed to pass with little to no scrutiny, and the fact that you are still employed as an MP, boggles the mind. Resign.

Hi there, as the person who introduced the amendments which led to this ban, I can tell you that the law already bans non-fatal strangulation and attempted suffocation. Consent can be a defence in situations where there is not serious harm but is for the defendant to prove.

In the UK, defendants in a case are innocent till proven guilty. Therefore, is it not for the defendant to prove their innocence but rather the prosecution to prove the defendants guilt. google.com/url?opi=899784…

I said this earlier this week and here's another example of what happens if you try to have dialogue with MPs, they will make out that any disagreement is abuse directed a poor harmless, noble MP who couldn't possibly have malign intentions or be supporting poor legislation

the horrific character attacks of being asked to explain how her bill should be applied to practical law and why it isn't a massive overreach on people's civil liberties

"Maybe kissing is illegal now under my new law, guess we'll have to arrest you and throw you in front of a judge to find out" Inhumanly revelling in the vagueness that might make every single picture of two people kissing in the UK illegal. Jess Asato is not fit to be an MP.

They've completely omitted Ganondorf coughing up blood from the remake. It would appear that the Switch 2 remake is more censored than even the 3DS version.

All the quotes from olds being like "Just put in more effort" "She needs to straighten her hair and wear a presentable suit if she wants a recruiter to notice her" is the modern day "Just give the manager a handshake" no, people are not hiring on looks anymore. They're not noticing you have great posture, you can't firm handshake your way through interviews anymore. They're just not hiring you at all. There is around 1.7 million people unemployed right now and an estimated 690k jobs.
"If I had it my way I would be doing a nine-to-five every day. I would love to do that,” says Casey Smith. The 19-year-old is one of nearly a million young people in the UK classified as a Neet - not in education, employment, or training. Read more: bbc.in/4kvyJoT

The UK is entering into a schizophrenic age where it is legal to marry and fuck your cousin, but if you record it then it's 6 years in prison.

It's almost a blessing that Charles doesn't have his mother's grace - under him, the imperious colonial-feudal nature of the UK monarchy is on full display.
The British Monarchy needs to be abolished
