God dammit he referenced the 08 play. This dude is the king.
#Broncos HC Sean Payton was shocked no one asked him about calling a reverse for Jaylen Waddle on the play he was injured: "IT WAS AWFUL. I'M SORRY."

Kellen Moore is not a good coach. I said it when he was at Dallas. I said it when he was in Los Angeles. I ate crow when he was in Philly (though they overrode his play calling and made him run the ball there). That was a wreck of a hire. Literally Dennis Allen was better.
Tired of watching the same problems and pretending like there could be an answer the next game. It's not about losing. The process is broken.

When was the last good New Orleans sports day? I am thinking it was the day we beat the Eagles in the divisional playoff in 2019. Can’t think of an actual good one since then.
pels setting the stage for an all time bad new orleans sports day tomorrow

He probably could have done that job forever and honestly may have been really good at it. Would not be surprised to see him land as a college OC somewhere when he is shuffled out of here.
Funny enough, it feels like Kellen Moore would've really enjoyed coaching Boise State after he politely turned them down a couple of years ago.

Nailed it. Said it better than I could. He just believes if you believe in yourself and your process you have to just hang on long enough, and bad results will become good ones. But the only reason that was true for most of his career was because he had a HOF coach and QB.
Mickey and co got fooled into believing that continuity is key when continuity is a lagging indicator. You have continuity because you have a good coach/QB/etc and get good results. You don’t get good results by keeping people who are mediocre/bad at their job.

This idea Mickey Loomis keeps trying to pitch to us: where everybody just needs to be “patient” so that your coach can grow into a job he’s going to have for 10 to 15 years just isn’t rooted in reality. It just shows how out of touch he has truly become.

I don’t think they know either. I’m guessing a lot of people in that building, including Gayle, are realizing that reality is coming soon. But I don’t think they have any clue what, exactly, they’ll do next.
I don’t think we have any idea what Saints do post Loomis.

Mickey thinks because he got lucky once with Sean and because the Steelers got lucky 3 times that this is the way it works. It doesn’t. Even successful coaches sometimes only get 5 years. This is now the second coach in a row he thought he could “develop”, and he can’t. Why?

Because you don’t “develop” an NFL head coach. Doesn’t mean they can’t get better or worse and can’t grow and learn. But you either have the stuff to do the job or you don’t. It’s clear ours does not. Plain and simple. Wait as long as you want. That won’t change.

I mean I would love to say, like, Kennesaw State but we know that ain’t happening (yet).

I don’t think he’s ever really lied about it. He was burned out and knew same end that eventually came for Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick was coming for him soon. He also didn’t really want to live in New Orleans anymore. Figured he would self eject before he got fired.
I really wish at some point in the future, Sean Payton writes a book and includes why he left the Saints. I think about it often. Everyone knew he wasn’t done coaching but he definitely wanted to get away.

It was bad at the end and honestly at parts of the middle. 2023 was terrible until the last 5 weeks. But we at least saw some highs which is what made the lows uber frustrating. But I thought DA could work when we hired him. Never thought that for a second with Kellen.
I don’t remember Dennis Allen being this bad. Kellen Moore legitimately might be the worst coach in football

Guys, I’m just gonna go ahead and break some news to you. I know this might be tough to hear. Jeff Stoutland is not coming here to participate in this shitshow in any way. He isn’t getting off his couch to jump on board the Titanic. It isn’t happening. Move on.

This is a good tweet.
At this point, I'd hire Dylan McDermott and Dermot Mulroney and have them split offense and defense playcalling.
