Set is ready @ElonMusk
We built it 25min from downtown Austin and can shoot anytime in the next 7 days on 1h notice.
Humanity is on the verge of becoming a multi-planet species and spacefaring civilization.
My goal with this interview is to help people viscerally feel what that future is going to look like and get everyone excited to help build it.
Really enjoyed the Enhanced Games. I used to swim with a lot of the guys that raced tonight so it was great to see them get another shot under the bright lights. My thoughts:
1. This isn’t the Olympic final. Not all of these athletes are in (or ever were in) that top 0.1% of the 0.1% of their event. Most are past their prime.
2. Seems like a lot of the non-enhanced athletes are top competitors looking to make money while they continue to pursue Olympic dreams. These non-enhanced athletes are probably going to win their events.
3. There needs to be more commentary about the PBs. A PB by how much? When was their last PB set? Yes Cody Miller won the 50 breast, but what’s more is he’s a 34 year old who broke a 9 year old PB from when he was an Olympian… that’s unbelievable and should be called out.
4. Skip the DJ set. That was awful lol. Terrible live stream experience.
5. Swimming is unique for this event. Non-enhanced athletes still get to wear the full body suits, which were banned in 2010.
6. @bryan_johnson is actually a goated commentator
7. This is a great channel for athletes to make money.
8. The prize money here could definitely draw top athletes similar to what LIV did to PGA players
Overall I thought this was great and hope they continue to do this. Like Hunter said, it’s great visibility for these Olympic sports outside of the 4 year cycle.

Liftoff of Starship V3, from the dunes right outside the pad.
This is the most insane shockwave action I have ever seen on video. Absolutely mad.

Unlike bad things, which tend to happen suddenly, good things tend to be built gradually, so are rarely newsworthy on any particular day. Thus, bad things dominate the news, even as overall the world gets better (albeit too slowly for us to notice).

It’s not nihilism.
It’s destiny. It’s the spirit of the pioneer. It’s the yearning for greatness. It’s the excitement of risking it all.

no one wants to hear this, but, if you want to stop seeing this stuff, build a real economy that works for people. a service based economy built on doordash, mckinsey, and chatgpt while making china the factory of the world is not real and will lead to this outcome.
Social accounts for politicians were full of slop before AI came into the picture, but this is egregious.
If it’s being used for a post under 50 words, it’s definitely being used for more important and lengthy things like legislation. Which models are they using? Would you rather live by laws drafted by Grok, Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini?
It’s inevitable (and ultimately good) that AI becomes more and more embedded into government tasks. This is why people like @BernieSanders calling for a pause in AI development have lost all credibility on the subject. Imagine if the world’s preeminent model was a Chinese model like DeepSeek?
Scenario 1: The world adopts DeepSeek due to its superiority. People in the US government start using it. China has the direct ability to mold and shape local and federal US policy at the ideological level.
Scenario 2: The US, similar to TikTok, bans the use of DeepSeek on govt devices and is relegated to using inferior models that are months/years behind China due to our “pause”. The US/China economic growth charts begin to look similar to the nuclear energy charts.
The LLM performance drop off on CAD questions is actually pretty crazy. I'm literally at level 0 and it definitely struggles on some pretty beginner-level questions imo. Interested if more advanced users feel the same way?
I'm currently chalking it up to my not knowing enough CAD vocabulary to properly communicate my goals, but there is still a massive experience disparity (especially for beginners) compared to ClaudeCode, Cursor, or Lovable
CAD is just so satisfying. Can't believe how much functionality the free version of Fusion 360 has. My algorithm is already showing me advanced projects other people are working on -- can't wait to be on that level. For now, my paper clip and Listerine bottle will hold me over.
Just finished up the Steve Jobs biography. Now I get it.
Tim Cook has been a great operator, but it really makes you think where Apple would be today if Jobs was still alive.
He had ideas for a TV before he died, the HomePod would probably be much more present in our lives, would they have abandoned the car project?
The VisionPro, even if not different from a design or functionality perspective, would have definitely launched with more exclusive content and experiences, which would have reduced churn and drove more dev focus on VisionPro apps.
And of course, it's really hard to imagine Apple being caught flat-footed on AI like they have.
I'll echo @jordihays's sentiment here. Apple has gotten really good at making money and moving the pieces around, but has fallen flat on innovation.
