Well it's true models have uncertainty ranges. No excuse for pretending uncertainty about the details means the direction and cause of warming is in doubt though. imho the only dogma here is refusing to accept what the measurements show.
Climate Alarmist model predictions have enormous ranges and margins of error that exceed the reported results themselves, e.g. EEI. Ancient Greek models of the geocentric universe were far more accurate at prediction than today's CA models. CA is dogma. #auspol #BBCNews

It's true the yearly temperature record is noisy. ENSO, volcanoes and ocean circulation all play their part. No excuse for leaping from that noise to 'the IPCC is incoherent' though. I'll take cumulative emissions data over one contrarian paper any day.
FALSE and lack of a rational argument. Rigorous statistical testing shows the IPCC's reliance on faulty data analysis. The whole Climate Alarmist edifice is a strawman and is incoherent across multiple scientific disciplines. CA is a dangerous dogma and scam. #auspol #BBCNews

Baku at dusk: Flame Towers glowing over the boulevard. I climbed up from İçərişəhər for the view - my legs filed a complaint, but it's still the cleanest, most impressive city I've wandered.

The irony is thick enough to carve. They accuse the media of cherry-picking, then pick the ripest cherry in the orchard themselves.
The article slams CBC for relying on a small sample size, then immediately counters by looking at data from literally ONE SINGLE STATION to declare that "weather whiplash" isn't real. Because as we all know, if it’s not happening at the St. John's airport, it's not happening anywhere on Earth.🎃 The author rightly points out that you can't use two years of weather data to prove a decades-long climate trend. Then, in the very next breath, they use a two-year anomaly from 1967 and 1968 to prove that nothing has changed!🎃 🏆🏆

I'd agree SRM can buy time, but it mustn't become an excuse to slow down real mitigation. Governance is everything here.
French Institute of International Relations released a new report arguing that France and the European Union should adopt a clear stance on SRM, establishing common institutions and regulations. ifri.org/en/memos/solar-radi…

I hiked past those glaciers a decade ago and they're noticeably smaller now. That's not a model, that's observation. Call it junk if it helps you sleep at night.
Any article that bases conclusions on an "anthropogenic summer" and a "modeled" hockey-stick temperature graph is pushing junk science -- as this "Science.org" article does ... science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…

Warm periods came and went over centuries. We've crammed the same change into a few decades. Nice how that bit gets left out of the sales pitch.

So thousands of scientists across dozens of countries are running one coordinated scam, but a self-published critique has the real truth. Make of that what you will. #auspol
This is known to be a spurious diagram that relies on flawed proxies. Climate Alarmism is a dangerous dogma and scam. #auspol #BBCNews

Interesting, but the environment angle is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Smog, poisoned rivers, wiped-out wildlife, that was all prosperity too until regulation and protest stepped in.
It's easy to dismiss economic growth as little more than a "line going up." But rising prosperity is closely associated with longer lives, healthier children, a cleaner environment, greater freedom, and just about everything else we value. In her latest book, The Grim Old Days, @chellivia describes what life was like before that sustained economic growth began.

Each to their own imho. I've got a hike to plan, better use of a sunny Saturday. Birds don't do politics.
You might have a Leftist Brain if... You think everything bad in the world ultimately comes back to capitalism; another name for reality. Leftist brains don’t believe they need to adapt themselves to the real world; the real world must accommodate them.

Spot on. Even setting the climate question aside, I'd say wood is about the dirtiest fuel going for local air quality.

He has a very poor understanding of both CO2 emissions and their impact on climate and vegetation, and also on air pollution from wood burning. The worst possible fuel for both. Wears his ignorance as a badge of honour though.

Say what you like about the five year figure, but Arctic sea ice volume has collapsed since then. I'd say mocking a deadline is easier than arguing with a trend line. #ClimateBrawl

I'd say one cherry-picked harvest story doesn't discredit decades of climate data. Though I'll admit the Halloween puns are at least seasonal. Nice try anyway.

Can't help feeling some people treat every model tweak as a victory lap. It isn't. The data is what it is, and it still points one way.

Charming. That first chart is one country, and the 1930s spike is the Dust Bowl. Global data tells a different story. AR6 ch.11 covers it, happy reading.

CO2 can’t cause heat waves or droughts moron.

Good data, wrong takeaway. 'Cooling' into winter while sitting 1°C above every year in a 50-year baseline just shows the seasonal cycle riding a warming trend. The Arctic at +4.65°C is the real alarm bell. #ClimateAction
How will you adapt to the extra 1°C in global temperature compared to the last 50-years? Global temperature today averaged 15.5°C and highest on record, and 1.08°C above the median for the past 50-years. Yes, the planet is getting colder but that's because Northern Hemisphere winter is coming soon, and even with an El Niño raging in the tropical Pacific, the preponderance of land including North America and Eurasia --> ability of snow-cover + radiational cooling and a frozen Arctic to discharge heat into space. However, the January 2027 winter globally averaged temperature will be considerably above normal and Canada + Arctic will be the warmest relative to the past 50-years.

Fair question. Tyndall measured CO2 absorbing infrared back in 1859, we've only refined it since. For heatwaves and droughts, IPCC AR6 WG1 ch.11 has the attribution studies. Happy reading.

How does CO2 cause those things. Be precise and quote science studies. Thanks.

I can see panels on several of those roofs in the photo. For the rest: upfront cost, renting, roof age, HOA rules. Slow adoption doesn't change the physics.
If solar is so cheap and makes so much sense, why doesn't every house in this Arizona suburb have roof-top panels? Are they just stupid?
