It’s certain things you HAVE to do and experience in your late teens and early twenties, so you don’t become a creepy 30+ year old.

YouTube is now the most-watched TV distributor in America, and it’s pulling away, per WSJ.
YouTube’s share of all US TV viewing time has climbed to about 14%, up from roughly 9% at the end of 2023, per Nielsen data charted by The Wall Street Journal.
That puts it ahead of every traditional media giant, including Disney, NBCUniversal and Fox, and well ahead of Netflix at about 8%.

So you admit to platforming chicago trauma to get to where you were.. now that you are actually in a position to use your found influence to grow the genre you exploit.. you’d rather keep dickeating the one artist you dick eat cause you make more money. Well
YOU ARE NOT HIPHOP MEDIA. NIGGA YOU ARE DRAKE MEDIA.
🚨 Akademiks explains why he’d rather cover DRAKE than discover new rappers and how the media is playing a role in hip-hop’s decline.
Ak says his controversial “War in Chiraq” coverage helped turn Chicago drill rappers into STARS by telling their stories and making fans invested in their lives.
“Nobody ever stops to think the influence of drill is because we told those stories.”
He admits covering Drake brings bigger numbers and less backlash than promoting upcoming artists, but acknowledges that this approach is HURTING HIP-HOP.
“If I talk about Drake, I’m gonna make a million. If I talk about this kid, maybe I make 500,000.”
Ak then sends a message to upcoming hip-hop media personalities, telling them they need to discover their OWN artists, tell their stories and help introduce the next generation of stars.
“You’re NEVER going to get on by covering Drake when I’m covering Drake. You need to find your Chief Keef in 2012.”
