the Desktop app is a big focus for us right now.
for everyone who runs Hermes Agent on more than one machine: once this PR lands, every gateway you've added stays connected and you can switch super easily between those.
lots more UX and design work on the way.
Been focusing on the Desktop app this last week or two.
This PR should be welcome news to a lot of you power users.
On next full release later this week I think you'll start noticing the difference in the desktop app getting noticeably nicer.
Still a long way to go, but we'll get there. Lots of UX and design work coming shortly.

Introducing Bot Mode for Hermes Agent.
Bot Mode is an alternative to sessions mode, where you have one chat with each agent profile, or "bot". These bots can be given jobs, descriptions, profile pics, and communicate with your other bots!
For one day we will do a public beta test of Bot Mode for Hermes Desktop through this plugin:

Hermes agents from @NousResearch built by among others the great @Teknium is everything I had hoped @faktoryai would one day be, when we raised back in 23.
We were too early, believed for too long that we didn't need programming agents as part of the equation.
To be honest though, even if all those things had gone right, I still think Hermes would still have won the agent game. Their harness is that good.
But I'm not complaining.
If it hadn't happened the way it did, I wouldn't have rejoined Block and thus not have started working on buzz.xyz which I think is a completely new category and the first network to treat Hermes, Claude Code, Codex, Grok and any other AI harness as first class citizens.
So it all worked out in the end.
