Everyone is saying Carrick ditched what worked for him and forgetting the effect of Casemiro in our transitional play. Casemiro was pivotal in our counter attacking play, without him, Carrick tried to do more of possession which explains why they went for Santos and Tielemans

CARRICK’S DOWNFALL In terms of tactics and personnel, Carrick’s downfall this season comes down to these key points: ▪️the 4-2-4 press got figured out completely, and already last season it was the weakest aspect of Carrick’s tenure. Opponents freely luring & progressing through wide areas at will, no real attempts fo fix it for months now. Total lack of coordination, chemistry and basic understanding between the players, leading to mistakes in timing, intensity, shape, angles ▪️this season’s half-baked sttempt to increase in-possesion control backfired dramatically and led to a static, undercoached attack, not dynamic, not automated, not positional. @cirotexts refers to it as a static-positional approach. United lost the transitional threat and gained nothing in settled play, rendering us impotent when attacking both behind and in front of the line ▪️as one of consequence of this change, we stopped using Dorgu as the LW, which had a substantial negative effect: while clearly a limited player, he’s a rare width holder & natural runner in the squad, who provided a lot of balance to an unbalanced front line. The correct solution was to upgrade our wide options, currently dire, which is the club’s failure ▪️on his good day and when used well, Casemiro was a cheat code for team. His excellent quick progression abilities, positioning and especially set pieces dominance, as noted by @umirf1, have not been adequately replaced. His goals from set pieces were of extreme value in many tight games. Again, the correct solution for lies in recruitment It’s an unfortunate situation. Carrick was failed in the market, for sure, but Carrick also failed with what he had at disposal, and failed severely. Both are true.

This is my point too, I don’t hate Rashford but there is no way his coming back will not upset the dressing room. Some players won’t like how he spoke about the team when he was on loan. Bringing him back is a no no. Dressing room cohesion is very important to any team’s success
Knew United players were gonna down tools once Carrick rolled out the red carpet for a player who couldn't be arsed to train properly & who spoke derogatorily about United on loan. You can't ask players to be committed & work hard while gladly welcoming Rashford.Consequences.

Now I am not saying he is the cause of the bad run of results but I just feel like the best thing for both parties is for them to part ways. Rashford has lost the confidence of many fans, the club also gave his number to another player. He did very well in his loan spells too

Rashford has been greatly disrespected and ai don’t even expect him to even give a thought to coming back. I can’t imagine what his relationship is with Cunha in the dressing room. There will definitely be an imbalance. The players clearly down tools for Carrick.

Na news be this ?
🚨💣 BREAKING: Manchester United’s hierarchy are in crisis talks over whether or not to sack Michael Carrick as manager. Eddie Howe is the preferred replacement of director of football Jason Wilcox due to his Premier League experience and lower cost than Unai Emery. Julian Nagelsmann is highly regarded by Christopher Vivell, United’s head of recruitment, but Wilcox’s view may hold more sway with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who controls football policy at United. Antonio Conte is another who may be in the frame. [@JamieJackson___]

These could have been ambulances for several hospitals but hey, we are doing reform, endure !!!

After all said and done, it needs to be said that Carrick is not really a top Coach/Manager. The current squad quality is better than the results. Not having a good squad depth can’t be the reason we have just 2 wins out of 12. Not acceptable
62
If for not other reason, this is enough to want and pray that APC loose the next election. The impunity from these guys is too daring

Should be Unai Emery or no one
🚨 NEW: Next United manager update via @MsiDouglas: - Antonio Conte: Keen on the role since leaving Napoli. Strong CV with titles in Italy and England, but questions over whether his abrasive style would work amid intense scrutiny. - Eddie Howe: Out-of-work boss and current bookmakers’ favourite. Not desperate to return; would only take a job that feels the right “fit” and wants influence in recruitment. - Kieran McKenna: Former Ipswich manager understood to be interested (previously linked when Carrick was appointed). Influence shows well across data metrics; Brighton’s first choice to replace De Zerbi. - Fabian Hurzeler: Brighton boss on United’s radar as a coveted option, though Brighton’s strong Premier League form may make the sales pitch fall on deaf ears.

I think Carrick just did his exit interview

Even if I loved what Martinez did, I know he shouldn’t have said those stuffs. Carrick was supposed to show some balls and drop him

Carrick at this point is unbelievable, why force Bruno to play in an unfamiliar position when there are batter natural wingers there. If you feel he is out form, why not drop him. Coward

This is another Mason Mount.
🚨 JUST IN: No positive update on Benjamin Sesko. He’s NOT in the squad again for Leeds - doesn't look the best from initial scans, but let's see how he does in the coming days and weeks. [@sullyexcl]

Micheal my guy….your team need to do the talking on the pitch bro, show us something
"My focus is driving the club forward" Michael Carrick confident Man Utd can turn around their form. 🔴

Careful what you wish for
🚨 Michael Carrick on life as Man United coach: “I'm loving it”. “I love the situation when actually you get a little bit of a some sort of struggle where you've got to find a way out of it”.

I guess that’s why Martinez didn’t say anything too
🚨 NEW: The Manchester United players fear The Amazon documentary cameras are affecting their season; staff and players are holding their tongue in post-match debriefs. [@TheSunFootball]
