Good question. Pultusk, Gaza, the Pyramids: can't recall the other three. I've walked 54 of Napoleon's 60 battlefields, and loads more marshals' battlefields in 8 countries for my new book, 'Napoleon & His Marshals.' They're hugely instructive #Napoleon
Replying to @aroberts_andrew
Which of Napoleon’s battlefields haven’t you walked across?

This movie did a great job of portraying Peter as a good, young, healthy masculine figure for young boys. Humble, a protector, a warrior, courageous in the face of fear, and kind. I was 7 when this movie came out and wanted to be Peter so bad lol Of course that portrayal reflects the books well, but I can’t help but imagine the new Narnia will find a way to take the masculine aspect out of Peter somehow. Boys need this kind of masculine hero to look up to.
If I ever sound annoying or pedantic about armor in asoiaf shows, it’s because 6 year old me saw High King Peter roll up in this to face the army of the White Witch. My standards have rarely been met since

A complete cultural fail on behalf of @NationalGallery - making Britain worse, less functional, less lovely and less loveable.
The National Gallery sold these benches citing health and safety regulations. Now there’s a small museum in the US that is proudly using them.

Whenever you see someone feign anger about British museums stealing artifacts, remember that this is the alternative.
The destruction of antiquities, art, and cultural heritage throughout the Middle East is devastating. A deliberate effort to erase thousands of years of history that existed before Islam. No history, no civilization, no memory, no future.

Every Argentine player in the English Premier League who took part in this ugly anti-British display should be stripped of their UK work visa. There should be zero tolerance for this.
🚨🇫🇰 PICTURED: Argentina’s players hold up a sign saying “Las Malvinas” are Argentine This is factually inaccurate, as the Malvinas, officially named the Falkland Islands, are British

This is superb. Sinn Fein MEP scolds the European parliament for not providing interpreters to let her speak in Irish. She's told that the Irish interpreters are present. She flubs for a moment and then continues in English, because she doesn't actually speak Irish
This is shocking. At an EU Foreign Affairs Committee meeting, Lynn Boylan lamented that it was “a pity we can’t use our own language.” When it was pointed out that she could, in fact, speak Irish, she backtracked almost instantly: "I wasn’t prepared, so I’ll use English."

This Kostyuk v Paolini quarter-final ending after just 1 hour 9 minutes is exactly why the women should be playing five sets like the men.

Hydration breaks are nothing but a money grabbing disgrace that suck the soul out of football.
🚨The 4th referee had to wait for FIFA’s broadcast team to signal the restart of USA vs. Paraguay which was delayed by commercials

The Anglo-Saxons have been in Britain for about twice as long as the Maori have been in New Zealand. It makes you wonder why the Maori are called "indigenous" to New Zealand while Britain is called a "nation of immigrants".
What historical fact sounds fake but is true?

Thank you Conservative Party for ensuring digital ID is foisted upon everyone!
We did it. Just 18 months ago Labour said a social media ban was not something they were considering. They have now finally committed to social media restrictions for under 16s. This is a huge victory and a pivotal moment for children across our country after months of delay and empty promises. This is down to the courage of bereaved parents who fought not for their own children but for other peoples children. They are the reason I kept fighting and the reason I would not accept a timetable that allowed the Government to avoid action in this Parliament. We now have a more credible delivery timeline and that matters because every month of delay leaves more children exposed to harm. This victory also belongs to the hard work of Lord Nash, teachers, health professionals, parents and children who spoke out and refused to be ignored. Conservatives in opposition said we would fight to protect childhood and stand with parents and we have shown we will hold the Government to account and deliver change.

Older than the Incas Older than the Aztecs Older than the Maori in NZ Older than the Zulu in SA Older than the Lakota Older than Islam in India But the English are not officially considered "native" to England.
This door in Westminster Abbey is older than most modern nation-states. Made in the 1050s from an English oak, it's the only surviving Anglo-Saxon door in Britain.

Milkmen were amazing. An electric vehicle that delivered locally sourced, organic produce before dawn every day, no single-use plastics, and recycled the waste as part of the deal. It sounds almost futuristic.
In 1995, 45% of British milk was delivered to the doorstep before seven in the morning by a milkman in an electric float. In 2026, it is 3%. The milkman has been effectively abolished inside one human generation. The supermarket walked in, undercut the cost by a few pence per pint, and the daily ritual of British household life, glass bottles clinking on the step at half past six, was gone by the time the children of 1995 had finished secondary school. The cost to the customer was a few pence per pint. The cost to the system was, in rough order: the glass bottle that was washed and reused hundreds of times, replaced with a plastic bottle that is used once and recycled imperfectly. The local dairy that supplied one town, replaced with a national processor that supplies half the country. The milk that arrived four hours after milking, replaced with milk that arrived three days after milking after a journey of 200 miles. The conversation on the doorstep, replaced with a self-checkout beep. The milkman himself, incidentally, had the lowest recorded rate of heart disease of any male occupation in Britain. He walked approximately 12 miles a day, finished work by 10am, and ate a cooked breakfast. He has been replaced, in the same delivery role, by a zero-hours Amazon Flex driver sitting in a Ford Transit. A small piece of British daily infrastructure was quietly demolished. Nobody was consulted. The milk is still being produced. It is just being produced further away, transported further, kept in plastic, and sold at a different margin, by a different business, to a customer who never sees who milked the cow. The milkman knew your name. The self-checkout does not.

This is a MUCH bigger deal than many people think. It is the destruction of a nation's history and culture by its elites, who hate it.
The Bank of England will feature wildlife on its new banknotes because it’s scared of being divisive. It states: ‘The theme should not involve imagery that would reasonably be offensive to, or exclude, any groups’. When we had a common culture we honoured heroes like Wellington.

“One of the departing hereditaries, the Earl of Devon, said the bill was regrettable. He said his family had been in the Lords for 900 years - and complained the notice period was less than required in employment law. "I think this House, Parliament, and the public more widely will miss us," the Earl of Devon said.”
