You did not, and will not, see a breaking news alert about her killing. The New York Times and other complicit media outlets will not put her face on their front pages. But here, you will see her face and know her name.
May the day come when those who killed Refeef and our families are brought to justice, and when the names of journalists who justified, condoned, or dismissed their deaths as insignificant are displayed on every street, so their complicity is never forgotten.

A new famine is literally being created in Gaza. Free food distribution has almost completely stopped, major aid organizations have suspended their services, and now the World Food Programme, a key source of flour and canned food for hundreds of thousands of people here, has announced the suspension of its assistance.
For over a week, trucks carrying vegetables, fruit, and frozen food have also been prevented from entering Gaza.
Food supplies are shrinking, everything entering Gaza is being tightly controlled, and food queues are growing frighteningly long.
We are already witnessing the signs of another hunger catastrophe. Families are losing their food sources one by one. Please, don't wait until people are dying of hunger again before you act. The world must act now.

🚨 Reem Asaad Awad, a 33-year-old mother, was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit her family's apartment in Gaza City's Rimal neighborhood around 4am Wednesday, setting the building on fire. Videos circulating online show her young daughter being pulled out of the burning apartment.
Footage from inside the apartment shows the girl sitting alone on a bed as smoke fills the room and fire burns the wall above her. In another shot she presses her hand to her mouth, eyes wide with terror.
Israel said it was targeting a Hamas member but has provided no evidence.

No president should be able to weaponize the federal government against political enemies and we cannot grow numb to this. Donald Trump has a clear record of doing exactly this.
We are days before the election, and everyone should be deeply suspicious of President Trump’s justice department and their actions against any sitting member of congress.
Moreover, Trump himself continues to prove how detached he is from the most pressing concerns Americans are facing, and why his agenda of cruelty, chaos and corruption must be checked.
