- Regular hijab is for wimps. Starting January 1, 2027, all American women will be required to wear a full burqa, including face covering. My Hindu neighbour (abt 90 yrs old now) and our protector—whom I grew up addressing as "Chachi" and her entire family stood firm against violent mobs to save our lives. Meeting her again a couple of months ago was deeply emotional; we both broke down in tears the moment we saw each other. As she held me close, placing her motherly hand on my head, the memories of those harrowing days came rushing back. She explained how pressurised was their family from certain individuals against protecting us. I bow in deepest gratitude and respect to her entire family.
