#WATCH | Delhi: When asked about his message to Indian students regarding Canada's changing visa and immigration policies, Canadian High Commissioner to India Chris Cooter says, "...there is a kind of misperception in India that Canada is shutting the doors. That is not at all the case. It is true that a couple of years ago, we did impose a cap because we had issues. There simply wasn't enough housing. There were some fly-by-night colleges. We wanted to clean that up, but we have done that. Now we have 400,000 students in Canada... you are very welcome as students, and parents and students, please do consider Canada..."
He adds, "...when it comes to the question of visas, people tell us all about that... the problems they have with getting the visa... I can tell you that as a result of the Prime Minister's visit here only 2.5 months ago, we are actively working on fixing those problems, making the experience much better..."

Another 4,500 (mostly) overseas become PR at the expense of top tier anglophone intl student grads (Waterloo, UofT, UBC). These grads earn more, work more and pay more tax than your MPs.
