There was a time when I kept applying for opportunities in Web3. I applied for ambassador programmes, community management roles, filled out forms, sent DMs, and tried different ways to get noticed. But nothing seemed to work. No replies. No opportunities. I honestly started wondering how people got their first jobs in Web3. Funny enough, my breakthrough didn't come from filling out another application. It came through a post I saw on X. Someone I followed and looked up to had quoted a post about a Web3 project. I checked it out, got interested, and joined its community. After spending some time there, I noticed that the community needed more engagement and someone to help make things work better. So I reached out to the person managing it and offered to help. I explained what I could bring to the community and how I could help make it more active. Eventually, he gave me a chance. That became my first proper job in Web3, and I can't explain how much it meant to me at the time. It was more than just getting a job. It gave me the confidence to believe that I could find other opportunities too. I gained practical experience, learned a lot, and started seeing what was possible for me. That experience opened my eyes to a lot of things. Before Web3, I knew very little about crypto wallets, blockchain networks, digital ownership, or the different ways people could work and earn online. Through Web3, I discovered opportunities I didn't even know existed. I also developed skills in writing, community building, business development, and video creation. But there's something else my experience taught me: Having access to technology doesn't automatically mean having access to opportunities. There are many talented people in Web3 looking for their first chance. Some have the skills but struggle to get noticed. Some don't have large audiences or the right connections. Others simply don't know where to find opportunities or how to get their foot in the door. Of course, visibility, creativity, and connections can make a difference. I'm not saying they don't matter. But I don't think they should be the only things that determine who gets an opportunity. As part of @MEXC 's Bitcoin Whitepaper Day campaign, I was invited to imagine what I would write if I had the chance to add a tenth page to the Bitcoin whitepaper. My choice would be to talk about something that has personally shaped my experience in Web3: OPPORTUNITY Bitcoin changed how we think about money, ownership, and financial freedom. I believe there's room for Web3 to take that spirit further. I believe Web3 should continue creating opportunities for people to learn, contribute, build careers, and participate in the digital economy, while making those opportunities easier to access for talented people who may not have the visibility, networks, or professional connections that others already have. Web3 opened a door for me that I struggled to find elsewhere. And I would love to see more people get that same chance. If there's one thing I'd add to Page 10, it is this: The future should create room for people to be recognised not just for who they know or how visible they are, but for what they can do and what they bring to the table.
