Ladies, look at your care plan.
Now look at BastCare.
Now look at your care plan.
Now look at BastCare.
Anything your care plan can do, BastCare does with a timestamp.
Look down. Look up.
Can your care plan show you how the summary was made?
No. I didn't think so.
I'm on a boat.
Caregivers: before Mom's next doctor visit, write down your top 3 questions. Ask them first. Then ask if you can record the answers.
BastCare turns the recording into plain words you can read again later, or share with your brother who couldn't make it. Free on iPhone.
Tonight in Aurora I'm on a panel about private innovation for public health, hosted by the Colorado School of Public Health and CU Denver Business School.
My point: you don't need the most data. You need the right data, with the work shown. 5:30 PM MT.

Thursday I'm on a panel at the Colorado School of Public Health and CU Denver Business School on what private innovation can do for public health.
My take from building @bast_ai: start with the person and show your work. Oct 22, 5:30 PM, Aurora.

In a Nature Medicine study, AI models alone got it right about 95% of the time. People using those same models: under 35%.
Adding a human didn't make it safer. Showing the work might. I wrote about why (and recorded it in my own voice):

AI alone got the right diagnosis 95% of the time. People using it got under 35% (Nature Medicine, 2026).
The human in the loop is not the safety net unless they can see the work.

Third year in a row supporting the Homeless Prenatal Program. Their mission, helping families get a healthy, strong start, is one @bast_ai believes in. Our whole board showed up to stand with them. Thank you, HPP!
Honored to be nominated for #WomenInAI by #ONEMILLIONWOMEN. Thank you, Ulrike Straßer! Their post nails it: the real disruption isn't the tech, it's who keeps control of it. That's why we build AI that shows its work. Congrats to all 30 nominees!
You can't lose what you never installed.
"Rogue agent" makes a great headline, but agents don't wake up and choose a crime.
People build them, deploy them, and decide what's wrapped around them.
@OpenAI even said it had "issues with protocols."
That isn't AI going rogue.
That's control never being installed.
It's time we held companies to that. Systems have to be installed around models, not hoped for.
Companies run on challenge, people, and integrity. To scale that culture with AI, you need runtime control of your agents.
That's what @bast_ai is: a runtime control plane, built by ex-IBM AI and big data engineers who did this for the biggest companies in the world.
Want a free intelligence briefing on your agents?
DM me. They're easy to knock out.
And @BBC just stop with the hyperbole please.

Doing some daily introspection and thinking about how lucky I am to live and work in America. I have the freedom to build a business and a life. I have a friend who inspired me to think about how we can build more rights holders by teaching what the Bill of Rights means to preschoolers. Terrifying to me as a parent but I decided to take a crack at what that would mean in pre-school language:
1 - You can use your voice. You can say what you think, believe what you believe, and get together with your friends. If the grown-ups in charge do something unfair, you can tell them so.
2 - People can protect their homes. Grown-ups are allowed to own weapons to keep themselves and their families safe.
3 - Your house is your house. Soldiers can't move into your bedroom unless your family says yes.
4 - Your stuff is private. Nobody gets to dig through your backpack or your room unless a judge says there's a very good reason.
5 - The rules have to be fair to you. If you're in trouble, you don't have to tell on yourself. You can't get in trouble twice for the same thing. And nobody can take your things without paying you for them.
6 - You get to tell your side. If someone says you did something wrong, you get to hear what they said, tell your side soon, and have a helper stand next to you.
7 - Regular people help decide. When two people have a big argument about money or things, a group of neighbors can listen and decide who's right.
8 - No giant punishments. The punishment has to fit what you did. No mean ones, and no time-outs that last forever.
9 - This list isn't all of it. You have more rights than the ones written here. A right still belongs to you even if nobody wrote it down.
10 - The big boss only gets the jobs on the list. Every other job belongs to the states and to the people. That means us.
Next Thursday I'm on a panel with some great Colorado health leaders.
Our question: what can private companies do to help with public health problems like climate, disease, and care? 🩺
Oct 22, 5:30 PM, CU Anschutz. Drinks after.
Come say hi.

Whatever book you pick up, it’s likely to make you feel better—maybe even a whole lot better. “In a secular age, I suspect that reading fiction is one of the few remaining paths to transcendence, that elusive state in which the distance between the self and the universe shrinks,” Ceridwen Dovey writes, in “Can Reading Make You Happier?,” which was published in 2015. Hello ladies.
Look at your husband.
Now look at BastCare.
Now look at your husband.
Now look at BastCare.
Sadly, he isn’t BastCare.
He’s texting “idk he said something about six weeks” from the parking lot. What’s in his hand.
A Crunchwrap he bought so he wouldn’t have to say “I forgot.”
Remember the doctor, the vet, the dentist, and the instructions.
For your man.
For your parents.

Four years ago today, I co-founded @bast_ai.
People ask about our moat. I ask what good owning the information does if the person who needs it cannot understand it.
That question has engineering consequences. Here’s our manifesto.
