Another boneheaded anti-prosperity decision by @bcndp.
For 22 years, B.C.'s Major Projects Inventory tracked every project worth $15M+. $385 BILLION in the last count.
This week the NDP killed it. Reason: "priorities and resources."
You can't manage what you don't measure – and you can't sell investors a project you refuse to count.

32 cents.
That's what a Canadian business puts into machinery and equipment for every dollar per worker an American business spends - because our tax rules made waiting cheaper than buying.
This week Ottawa changed that. Write off the whole machine, year one.
Now fix the permits and we'll be cooking with gas!

Thanks @CHEK_News for having me talk about yet another cost escalator for construction - the counter tariffs. Important politically to stand up for 🇨🇦, but make no mistake: economically these hurt us bad.
Sigh. Another kick in the teeth for builders.

I'm annoyed so I wrote an op-ed at ICBA.ca...
Tilbury LNG has been here since 1971.
Last week, the Eby cabinet approved a $2BN expansion: 1,100 jobs a year, $800MN in GDP, cleaner marine fuel.
Then an NDP cabinet minister went public against it.
It happens, but there's usually an action attached. Freeland resigned. Guilbeault resigned. Lekstrom resigned.
Time for Kelly Greene to do the honourable thing.

What came back: cracked steel. Failed coatings. Gusset plates corroding with no structural buffer.
The NDP wants to patch it. We say replace it.
