The government was woefully unprepared to deal with the fires. Why was there only one kabbalist ready to protect one neighbourhood? If there were more kabbalists on standby for each neighbourhood the fire could've been immediately stopped in its tracks.
NEW: I've confirmed with a source in Los Angeles, that last Wednesday night, when the Sunset fire was spreading down the Hollywood hills and getting uncomfortably close to the Frum community, HaRav Eliyahu Netaneli, a noted Tzadik and Kabbalist who lives in LA, urged everyone to say a specific kapitel of Tehillim, and he was driven close to the fire.
He started praying and when he stopped, the fire miraculously stopped in its tracks and started blowing the other way. Shortly after the fire was contained and was no longer a threat to the Frum community.
To give you a glimpse of his greatness, a number of years ago, a Frum person went to Rav Chaim Kanievsky to get a brocha.
Rav Chaim asked him where he lived. When he responded, Los Angeles, Rav Chaim said, "Why are you coming here for a brocha, you have HaRav Eliyahu Netaneli in your city, go to him for a brocha."
