What's troubling about it? This is a prominent Jewish person sharing his lived experience and that of many others too afraid to speak out.
This tweet is exhibit "A" highlighting the very problem the article is addressing which is the weaponization of antisemitism to gaslight and shut down legitimate discussion and debate.
This is a deeply troubling message to see #Canada's Special Representative for Combatting Islamophobia choose to amplify — one featuring antisemitic tropes of Jewish power & denying the lived experience of Jews, who, according to many including the Prime Minister, are facing "terrifying" levels of antisemitic attacks here in #Canada & around the world.
This is unacceptable behaviour for anyone, and especially for someone in her position. #cndpoli
On September 9th, the University of Alberta’s @UAlberta_FoMD held a session “on antisemitism” which was, in reality, a display of anti-Palestinian racism. In support of @HA4Palestine, IJVE signed on to this joint letter with @JewishYEG as a coalition of Jews in protest:
Zionist propaganda and anti-Palestinian racism such as this is unconscionable and violent, as well as a dishonest way to teach antisemitism. We ask that others demand future sessions with these speakers are cancelled, with truthful education provided instead.
