Outlawing the backpass might have stopped a lot of negative football and time wasting but it's deprived us of comedy moments like this. Willie Donachie scoring a peach of an own goal in 1978 playing for Scotland vs Wales

Big up Gary Neville. Also to people that think we need a “balanced debate” on *racism* - you’re part of the problem. #SayNoToRacism but more importantly, believe us when we say it’s getting worse and we need support, solidarity and action.

It is really sad to see racism again at a football match, but I think it's very important to talk about it in public. If not, it will be forgotten again in a couple of days (as always). (1/4)

The man who called me "Abu Hamza" as an Islamaphobic slur has surely not been allowed to join the Tories, has he?! Serious questions to ask of Conservatives if they have, would be further proof that Islamaphobia is not just tolerated but systemic within the Conservative Party.
Coburn joins Tories The former @UKIP_Scotland leader and MEP David Coburn’s been in touch to say he’s joined the @Conservatives He was already estranged from @brexitparty_uk and says he wants to help @BorisJohnson “save the Union” in any #indyref2

“Boris is a racist, homophobic, islamophobe” “He’s not an anti-Semite though is he” and that’s exactly the problem lmaoo there is a hierarchy of offence in this country and issues that don’t affect white people are at the bottom

Dark day for minorities in the UK. Especially for British Muslims who watched as a man who said "Islam was the problem," mocked veiled Muslim women, & also turned a blind eye to massive anti-Muslim hatred in his party, was just given a landslide majority by their fellow Britons.

Trouble is when people who go on to be Prime Minister win referendum campaigns which break laws/rules, and few in media or Parliament appear to give a damn, this kind of thing is bound to happen. Troubling nonetheless given it is well known postal votes should not be discussed
It may be an offence to communicate any information obtained at postal vote opening sessions, including about votes cast, before a poll has closed. Anyone with information to suggest this has happened should report it to the police @ElectoralCommUK #GE19
