To infinity and beyond!
So the first thing I'm crazy excited about is the boy genius Elliot Arledge @elliotarledge, the creator of this CUDA course and really a self-made person: someone who eschewed a college-classic education for teaching, as a renegade, state-of-the-art CUDA engineering to millions of people via Free Code Camp. He does kind of 22-hour coding sessions and marathons in a room heated by melting GPUs and is heroically devoting himself to unlocking absolutely every chip's full capacity in the great engineering challenge of Ignition at @infinity_ai_ . There's something to be said for people who continue to pursue greatness in an era where greatness is taboo. Elliot stands proud as a person who I expect will achieve tremendous great things at Infinity and beyond.

When I think of technical depth, I think back to my interviews with Aditya @adity_omg and an candidate NVIDIA chip architect. Aditya and this chip architect were going blow for blow into the depths of collectives engineering and chip representations. Aditya's Meta Superintelligence Labs collectives experience was on full display or at full bore. He's an incredibly deep and thoughtful engineer who has a sense of spiritual inspiration about his inventions. Hand in hand we expect to deliver truly phenomenal & generational engineering breakthroughs at @infinity_ai_, in a way that will have indelible impact on the chip industry and beyond!

Welcome welcome!! 🔥🚀
Life update: I have joined @infinity_ai_ you really cannot predict where you will end up in a year. from 20 hour timelapses and the CUDA course launch in 2024, to the residency and fr8 in 2025, now having visited shenzhen, building a 4x rtx pro 6000 Blackwell rig in 2026. i feel like the luckiest person alive to have experienced so much in such a small window of time. having been given the resources, the freedom, a coordinated team to execute with ruthlessly, it feels like being on a special forces team. the music of the singularity just gets louder every day and to get the opportunity to work on optimizing massive transformers down to the bare metal, its literally a dream. i remain deeply passionate about teaching and helping lift up everyone around the world by helping them understand how, imo, the coolest AI systems in the world function. infinity is supportive of this. i will never stop posting and sharing my life and personal projects with you all.

timelapse #83 (22 hrs): - it was very easy to dive super deep into anything i needed to (this is what i focused on today because not all days are like this) - finding the grok code fast 1 + grok 4 for deep thinking and verification combo to be super useful in cursor. speed was solid - hard to imagine myself spending many more mental clock cycles in a 24 hr period - had to pull out qwen3-next’s gated deltanet + linear attention from bleeding edge hf transformers to begin implementing a multi-gpu fp8 trainer from scratch. this is so damn bleeding edge and i underestimated how much effort this has and will require lol - lots of diet coke and oats - shipped the template which the core chapters of my book will be built on: github.com/infatoshi/naive.c… - all im missing now is flash attention 1/2 mastery (fa2 tmrw), intuition on making topk faster (for arbitrary row length), what i should and shouldnt teach in cutlass/cute, hopper/blackwell gemm kernel mastery (down to fp4) — shoutout to @pranjalssh for making this easier for me. his blog post is amazing - caught up w/ @matiroy - im feeling great mentally but not so good physically as im writing this and about to pass out

Infinity is the vanguard of a new era of products that are researchers: here’s to the Intelligence Age!!
Who builds the fastest AI? Whoever wins at automated research. That’s why top F100 companies like @Nvidia and @HP are coming to @infinity_ai_ . Infinity Autoresearch hit 2x token throughput for Nemotron 3 Super on the HP ZGX Fury (GB300). Here’s how we generate ∞ speed:

A new AI chip shouldn’t need months of software work before it can actually run AI. That’s what Ignition, one of Infinity’s Grand Challenges, is trying to solve. We built an AI agent that can generate the software stack needed to get a new chip running. Now the challenge is to make it faster, better, and more automatic. 🚀

Automating AI research is one of Infinity’s Grand Challenges. We’re already using AI to reproduce state-of-the-art inference research and turn papers into working code. The goal is bigger than that. Have AI read the paper, write the code, run the experiments, learn from the results, and keep going. That’s the loop we want to automate. 🚀

The science of recursive self-improvement might be machine learning but the art is in understanding meta-cognition RSI is really about self-learning, designing the context and incentives that compound the ability to reach a metric that matters

Every generation of frontier AI lab is formed as a response to the previous lab not being careful enough with safety and alignment, an evolutionary mechanism that selects for paranoia, anxiety, and political orthodoxy.

I caught up with Jeremy recently I would frame this two ways: It is both something very targeted and timely, pragmatic - building GPU kernels faster than ever It’s also the start of something insane, huge, and probably the future of all software companies The RSI Company

We are truly living in the future at the @infinity_ai_! We are reimaging not just how engineering teams should be built but what is the infrastructure and tooling our evolving agents need to be extremely successful now and to compound! As someone who hand wrote CUDA optimizations for many days more than a decade ago just to squeeze that last bit of performance of a matmul - going from a new matmul implementation to the entire suite of tools including a profiler, AI compiler, memory sanitizer, a simulator all on a brand new in memory computing chip to enable and optimize performance 20x was surreal and really required pushing the limits of both AI and human ingenuity! Congrats to our all star team @IshanPaidhungat and @LinkBechtel! Thank you for sustaining many long days of hangs, wedged cards and numerical accuracy issues! Could not have done without the expertise from the stellar d-Matrix team Arash Fayyazi, Sayantan Sarkar, Aseem Bathla and leadership of Sree Ganesan, @sidsheth, @JvNixon! Cant wait to share a lot more here, watch out for this space!

The next era of AI will be built by AI – systems that optimize other systems and compound on their progress. What @Principal_VC portfolio company @infinity_ai_  just showed with @dMatrix_AI is an early glimpse of that: using AI agents to rebuild the software layer that unlocks peak performance from new hardware, loosening NVIDIA’s grip on where the fastest AI can run. This is recursive self-improvement in practice, and only the start of how it touches every field of science. Proud of founder Jeremy Nixon (@JvNixon) and the Infinity team, and excited for the advancements to come.

There's really no ecosystem outside of CUDA and the only thing that matters is tokens per second. Building CUDA for every chip means generative optimization over a codebase, speed running two decades of engineering

I'd like to get kernelbench.com and netherite (check pinned) up on arxiv. If anyone seeing this has arxiv authorization, I'd love to collaborate on putting those up so that there exist basically research paper copies of those works. DM please :)
