Texans have been adding their “I voted” stickers to his memorial in Houston.
I just added mine.

By now I’ve read or seen every major victory speech from Tuesday’s remarkable election. There were many powerful and moving speeches, but in my judgment, the best was from James Talarico. I urge you to read it. I think it’s a harbinger of the future.

This is a @SethKrasne appreciation post.
Seth (along w/@gina__hinojosa and @AntonioAEsparza) ran scrappy yet disciplined.
They pushed boundaries without abandoning best practices, and always stayed true to themselves and their message.
And in doing so, set a new standard.

@SethKrasne , Talarico's campaign manager, is 29. The comms director, @jt_ennis , is 28. The guy who did all the digital ads & helped write Talarico's speeches, @AntonioAEsparza , is 26. (His chief of staff, who also happens to be named Gina Hinojosa, is an ancient 32.)
Meet @SethKrasne He ran one the best campaigns I have ever witnessed in my life for James Talarico. He and his team pulled off the unthinking and turned Tx blue. I was honored to be a part of his team. But all the credit goes to him and their amazing staff who shook the political world!

There's a lot to focus on right now, but "The richest man to ever live just spent $200 million to support the Republican Senate candidate in Texas, and his man lost by double-digits in a statewide wipeout" is a completely insane sentence.
Put another way, the most expensive US Senate race before 2020 was $200 million. *One guy* spent that amount in Texas, and it doesn't seem to have made any difference. It might have hurt in a kind of Streisand effect way, in that the spending level was seen as obscene to people sympathetic to the argument that billionaires shouldn't "buy" elections.
The implications here seem pretty interesting! Especially re the limits of billionaire political power and/or the diminishing returns of money in politics.

I am honored and immensely grateful that El Paso County voters have entrusted me to serve them as their next Representative. Thank you to everyone who participated in this election, and to the many volunteers and supporters who made this victory possible. Together, we made history. This is just the start. We will make an even greater impact by finally delivering the representation this district deserves. I want you to know how deeply committed and resolved I am to represent you in a way this congressional district has not seen for far too long… maybe ever. To every resident of Colorado’s Fifth District, whether you voted for me or not: I commit to listening to you and working for you. Colorado’s Fifth District deserves a representative who will put service above politics, who will fight to lower costs, restore integrity to our government, and make sure every Coloradan has the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. I am ready for that fight, and I am grateful to every person who has made this possible. The work and the movement continue. We are just getting started.

My family speaks often of agape: love that seeks nothing in return, love strong enough to confront evil without becoming it. Last night, Senator-elect @JamesTalarico put it plainly: "What hate can't do, love can." Texas chose that kind of love. Congratulations, James.

I can't compliment @AntonioAEsparza enough for the work he put in.
Building an online behemoth on a US Senate race is one thing, but Antonio and James did it BEFORE the senate run armed with a super-minority in the Texas legislature, a killer pen, and an iPhone camera.
