I run @syftdata and write about B2B go-to-market. Three things I post about: 1/ Buying behavior: how buyers actually research and decide (hint: before they talk to you) 2/ GTM data: what to measure, what to ignore 3/ Inbound and founder-led marketing, with the AI tools I actually use If you work in marketing, sales or RevOps, follow along. I'll keep it useful and occasionally funny.

A prospect told me they get about 1,000 website visitors a month and 4–6 form submissions. Then he said something more interesting: “We’re a small team. We don’t have a lot of resources to sit around chasing deals that are a poor fit.” They didn’t need more leads. They need to know which ones deserve their time.

These are my favorite GTM engineering accounts on X. The selection process was rigorous: I like to read their posts, and I thought, “Hey, that’s useful. This is a great account.” No scoring model. No industry panel. Grouped by what I’d follow them for. Plenty of crossover, obviously. GTM SYSTEMS & AI BUILDS @retttx — Helped build Clay’s GTM engineering function. Shares how the systems fit together. @BenyaminHolley — Hands-on builds with Claude Code and lessons from shipping real GTM systems. @gtm_engineer — Workflow breakdowns, operator interviews, and practical GTM engineering tutorials. @jai__toor — Builds GTM developer tools at Deepline and shares recipes for acting on technical signals. @idogoldd — Builds AI GTM agents at Swan and shares lessons from putting agents into production. GTM STRATEGY & FRAMEWORKS @brendanjshort — Breaks down how AI-native revenue teams work through The Signal. @schoeny — An analyst’s perspective on AI, GTM tools, and where the market is heading. @fivosaresti — Maps the full GTM system, from ICP analysis and market mapping to outreach. @dan__rosenthal — Detailed frameworks for GTM motions, signal architecture, and AI-powered operations. @nathanclark — Perspectives on GTM operations, revenue growth, and applying AI to everyday work. SIGNALS & TARGETING @ENowoslawski — Deep outbound expertise, from enrichment and buying signals to campaign execution. @itsalexvacca — Clear breakdowns of buying signals and coordinated GTM execution. @FlorinTatulea — Practical builds for account scoring, prospecting, and win-back campaigns. @Nickkonsta — Signal-based outbound and finding the right moment to reach a buyer. OUTBOUND EXECUTION & INFRASTRUCTURE @coldemailchris — The daily mechanics of outbound: sourcing, enrichment, campaigns, and follow-up. @bretonwill — List quality, campaign QA, and outbound systems that hold up at scale. @AaronxShepherd — Shows how offers, targeting, infrastructure, and execution connect to pipeline. @RCIllingworth — Cold email infrastructure, deliverability, and consistent execution. @ankit_saas — Workflows connecting lead sourcing, research, messaging, and automation. @draprints — LinkedIn and cold email playbooks, from setup to reply handling. GTM PRACTICE & CAREER @itsMoveek — Product marketing and GTM perspectives, plus resources for getting into GTM engineering. @MitchellKeller_ — Practical outbound ideas, AI workflows, and an active voice in the GTM conversation. @Jesusvivas11 — Shares perspectives on building GTM systems for B2B companies. Give up on replies as a success metric but please treat cold email as a "zero click" channel.
One of our clients started cold calling people who simply clicked our cold emails. That means they’re booking calls with people who DIDN’T EVEN RESPOND. I see this as proof of one of the biggest shifts we’re all about to deal with in the cold email game. It’s no longer a direct sales channel. Cold email has gotten so commoditized to the point where anyone can have Claude spin up a campaign in minutes and begin sending thousands of emails a day. Nobody is fooled AT ALL into thinking it’s a real salesperson behind the email. Problem is, most people are still judging cold email by one thing: "Did they reply?" That's missing a massive part of what’s actually happening throughout the 12M+ cold emails we send every month. For Fyxer, every positive reply led to 2.11 signups. That means a huge number of people were reading the email, checking out the site, and signing up without ever replying to us. A click is a website visit. It’s somebody who saw the offer and decided it was worth checking out. So now we track every person who clicks an email and send that data to the client in real time. They get the name and company behind the click, and the event can be pushed into their CRM. Then they can actually do something with it. One client took that click data and used it in their ad targeting. Their CPL dropped 50%. Another client took roughly their top 200 clickers each day, enriched them, found mobile numbers, and gave them to their cold-call team. Those calls had a 20% connect rate. Normal cold calling at 5% is already pretty dope. 20% is ridiculous. Cold email used to live and die inside an inbox, but ever since we've started using Halo we've unlocked something unreal. When I say this is the future of cold email, I really mean it. One click is now able to feed ads, sales calls, CRM workflows, ABM, and follow-up. You can think of it working the same way Meta or Google Ads works, but you have WAY more data on who is actually behind the results. Instead of 10,000 anonymous people who clicked your ad, you have 10,000 emails, phone numbers, names, and faces to call, follow up with, DM, whatever your sales people are already doing. Or in most cases for our clients, the prospect will open the email, browse the website, and book a call without ever having to respond or have someone follow up.

You either die a SaaS or live long enough to become a data company.

300 B2B teams told @poyark and @majavoje which buying signals they actually act on: 📣 Content engagement: 52% 🌐 Website visits: 42% 🛠️ Product usage: 40% 🔄 Champion job changes: 28% 👔 Leadership changes: 24% 🧩 Tech stack changes: 14% Teams act on what's easy to see, but that's not always what predicts a deal. Which one is your team ignoring? (results from stateofb2bgtm.com)

The Anthropic Seven are like the Traitorous Eight who kicked off the semi industry. History always rhymes.

Companies spend heavily on marketing to get buyers’ attention, then make buyers do all the work. Find the pricing. Fill out the form. Explain their role. Describe their problem. At this point, the buyer should invoice us.

The Meta Ads MCP with Advantage+ is a game-changer for B2B paid orchestration. All other ad platforms are asleep at the wheel sadly (cough, LinkedIn cough).

Those COVID years were pretty much UBI in tech and elsewhere.

Most SaaS should look at open source dev tools companies for GTM 1/ buyers think 'I could build it in a weekend' 2/ extremely easy to get started via a free offering but very difficult to self-maintain infra 3/ word of mouth and community a big part of growth (devs are very hard to market to)

A buyer asks AI to compare six vendors, then visits your pricing page. Your funnel calls this their first touch. But really, it’s your first touch. They, however, have been busy.
