In light of #Dorothy, The March 2026 Indian Trans Act strips away the right to self-identification and subjects an already marginalized community to greater state intrusion and medical scrutiny. Trans people’s lives and constitutional rights are threatened. Please speak/share!

Frank Herbert: “I think we should be wary of Power and the people it attracts. Governments and religions are systems that can be used by manipulative people to gain power.” X user in 2026: “This movie is being made because Hollywood hates to see a man win.”
This looks great but I suspect it’s going to kill Paul in some emasculating way because Hollywood hates strong male authority figures.

I'm really unsettled by this contingent of women on here who are so comfortable admitting that your friendships are a temporary frivolity on the way to wife and motherhood, but I can rest assured that none of the women currently in my life are this way and are here to stay!
Motherhood is awesome because I no longer feel pressured to do useless and inconvenient shit to “prove” that I’m a good friend. I have everything I want and need right where I am and I’m not moving!

It's easy to love a baby, they barely have wills of their own. It's much harder to give unconditional love and acceptance to a full grown adult whose neuroses have their origin in mistakes you yourself made
Everyone I know loves their baby so much and almost everyone I know has an at least somewhat fractious relationship with their parents. Seems important to figure out what goes wrong between babyhood and adulthood.

Changing Dune's story from Herbert's canon to make more space for Chani and giving her an active role in the story was the HOTTEST thing a director could do and Denis Villeneuve actually did it.
