I love little solutions like this. We used to have a loading bar at the top of the app whenever the app was syncing in the background, but it was bothering me because sometimes the sync was very short and you'd just see it flashing up there. Also it felt uninspiring. Then I thought, why not re-use our little "brain" icon (which opens account settings and shows at all times), but now when a sync is present, it just turns into a little loader, and when done goes back to normal. Conceptually perfect too, because it "syncs your mind" 🧡 It's simple enough to be ignored, but visible enough to know that something is happening.
