Electric cars are now up to nine times cheaper than petrol or diesel ones to drive in Britain, a Carbon Brief analysis calculates. If charged with off-peak power they cost 2.3p a mile, compared to 20.1p for petrol and 21p for diesel.

Q3 2026 was the first quarter ever in the EU where battery electric vehicles outsold pure petrol cars
Over 700k BEVs were sold between July and September, a staggering 64% increase over Q3 2025

MIND-BLOWING STATS: A record 2/3 of new cars in China are now electric, while combustion-car sales have fallen by 2/3 since they peaked in 2017
– In 2020, ~95% of sales were combustion-engine cars
– By Sep 2026, they crashed to 33%
– On the flip side, NEVs hit a record 67%

EVs are not a "rich" country phenomenon at all anymore
Roughly 30% of new car sales in Indonesia are already fully battery electric.
Oil importing countries across the globe are making the sensible choice of moving away from oil dependency in the transport sector.

Denmark 🇩🇰 shows the way - electric cars reach 90% of the market.
Six years ago, battery electric cars made up less than 10% of Denmark's new car market. In September it reached 90.
To catalyse this transition, Denmark helped make electric cars more attractive to buy and own:
✅ Substantial registration tax reductions for electric cars.
✅ Grants for charging infrastructure in housing associations.
✅ Building regulations requiring charging infrastructure in certain car parks.
These measures address both the purchasing decision and the practical question of where people will charge.
With more than 800,000 electric cars on the road, Denmark is displacing 13% of the country's entire oil consumption - becoming more energy independent!
For long we in Norway was alone at the world electric car per capita top. Now we are joined by Denmark. China, Nepal, Ethiopia, Vietnam and some other European countries are right behind. The future of driving is electric!

What most people don't know: when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it.
Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels.
Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%.
Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%.

The warmer the oceans get, the less CO2 it can hold. So it creates a feedback. More greenhouse gases stay in the air, and it all warms even more.
The world’s oceans are reaching temperatures that could roil marine ecosystems and sap the ocean’s ability to take up carbon dioxide from the air

The planet is getting hotter, and there’s an unexpected reason why. Earth’s albedo—which is a measure of how much sunlight it reflects back into space—is falling. This means Earth is absorbing more heat than it is emitting, and that could make warming in the coming years 10-30% higher than current estimates suggest. This paper gives a fancy name to a problem you can already feel in your bones
"The Tragedy of the Cognitive Commons." Checking AI output requires deep expertise. Deep expertise comes from doing grunt work for years. And grunt work is the first thing AI eats
So we're building systems that need expert supervision while dismantling the only known process for making experts
The paper calls the shared pool of human expertise the "cognitive commons." Every profession drinks from it. Nobody's refilling it.
By eliminating junior roles, each company is acting totally rationally, and the collective result: a profession that can't catch AI's mistakes anymore because it never learned to do the work in the first place
Who checks AI's homework in 15 years?

We’re in so so SO much trouble, & pretty much every politician & journalist has just decided to ignore it.

Adiós al mito del 'goteo': 50 años de datos en 18 países OCDE confirman que bajar impuestos a los ricos aumenta su renta 0,8% y la desigualdad pero NO sube el PIB ni baja el paro.
Solo enriquece más a los ricos. Punto.
