Amen.
Since I wrote my book Another Gospel about the crisis of faith I walked through as a result of being discipled by a progressive pastor, I've watched progressive Christianity grow, escalate, become legitimized, mainstreamed, and even voted into office. I've watched Christians who should know better be bewitched by its seductive influence. On the other hand, the woke right seems to be also gaining a level of acceptance I never thought possible.
Here's why I'm not discouraged:
1. God is sovereign.
2. I've looked into the eyes of countless Christians who woke up to the progressive presence in their spheres of influence.
3. I've looked into the eyes of Christians who were led out of it and into the true gospel.
4. The Word of God does not change, and practically every book of the New Testament addresses the fact that we should expect false teachers to creep into our churches unnoticed. We are given hope and specific instructions about what to do:
“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it.” (2 Timothy 3:14)
We can expect numbers to be against us. False teachings, false teachers, and false churches always have big numbers. We are to continue in what we have learned...discipling and making disciples. The gates of hell will not prevail.

No where in the Bible does it say to worry about it, but it often says to pray about it.

I don't know all the details about the arrest of @SlowToWrite.
What I do know is he's not here illegally, is a brother in Christ, and is a godly husband and father.
No matter what your disagreement with Samuel may be, it's vile and wicked to celebrate him being arrested.

Since the “If God can’t make a rock so big he can’t move it…” form of argument keeps resurfacing, despite the refutation, let’s provide the refutation.
The ultimate reason for that which exists or occurs goes back to God the Creator and Preserver.
Nothing except God has self-existence. That’s the Creator-Creature distinction.
God can and does create free creatures, as well as plants, planets, stars, etc. However, creaturely freedom is relative. Plants have life that rocks don’t have. Animals have freedom of movement that plants lack. Humans and angels have even more freedom than animals. But all of this freedom is freedom relative to the creation, not freedom from the Creator.
The ultimate reason for your continued existence from moment to moment, is God willing it to be so. You are free in many ways, but you are not self-existent.
You can deny that God determines everything, and folks like @Soteriology101 do exactly that, but you cannot escape the fact that God knows in advance what you plan to deny and could prevent you from doing so, not by overpowering you, but simply by withdrawing his permission that you continue to exist.
You might object that there are folks who believe that God decides everything that will happen, but that God does so without determining it. Ultimately, this objection comes down to an important nuance as to the precise scope of what “determine” means.
Ultimately, though, the idea of God creating a being that in any way doesn’t depend on God for its very existence, much less its action, is not a high view of God’s creative ability, it’s just a fundamental error regarding the Creator-Creature distinction.
Please pray for Keith and his family.

It turns out, God has given us a country with a peaceful way to steer where it goes. It’s called VOTING and every Christian needs to go vote. No, none of the candidates are Jesus. Yes, they’re all flawed and imperfect sinners, like you. Go vote for the candidates who want to advance the policies that fend off the evils of marxism, communism, and sharia law. Those might not be the most Christian-looking candidates, but the ones who have the strongest chance of defeating the clearly evil ones we know we don’t want. We need effectiveness, not perfection. We’re in too deep of a hole to be worried about the landscaping that can be planted later.
RT @D_B_Harrison: We’re reproducing our own. That’s not the problem. The problem is we keep murdering them in the womb.

Why did I just see what is essentially a campaign ad on Fox football that says it’s funded by my taxes dollars? I’d rather not, thank you.
Exceedingly blessed to have met @Phil_Johnson_ at the Truth Matters Conference with @gracetoyou. His teaching on Hebrews 4:12 piercd my heart and blessed me greatly.
I did not get to really speak with him, but I would have told him that his ministry both at GTY and on this platform has encouraged me repeatedly. I am praying for him and for his wife, Darlene. Thank your for your faithfulness, @Phil_Johnson_ All Glory Be to Christ.

100 percent this! 👇
This was predicted.
And shouldn't surprise you.
This has happened in the past. Christian progressives thought they could use the power of government a hundred years ago to create a perfect government. They were also obsessed with race and racial purity like today's Christian Nationalists have been.
This led to a resurgence of the KKK, a segregated federal government, and the worst expansion of government power of all time under Woodrow Wilson, a supposed Christian. He claimed Christianity but his actions caused immense damage to the country. He had let politics and the idea of control and power overcome his view of the Gospel.
One hundred years later we have Christians obsessing over race and trying to create a Christian utopia on Earth through government power again. It was only ever going to go the way it did in the past.
Step back from the ledge. Woodrow Wilson damaged the country in ways we are still dealing with. It won't be better because it's "our side" this time. This will always be destined to fail because it is not how the Lord called us to live and to behave.
The premise itself is wrong that we need to use government power to enforce our beliefs.
If this was the way to extend the Gospel into the world, why is it not mentioned in the texts? Why doesn't Jesus ever command His followers to grab as much power as possible? Why does He instead say that they need to be HUMBLE? Why does He call us to lead by being servants? Why didn't He leave us a political manual like so many other leaders have?
Should Christians be involved in politics and government? OF COURSE! Just as we should be involved in art, academia, military, and any other role that impacts this world as much as we can be. Use your God-given talents to glorify the Kingdom.
But don't mistake Christians operating government for the growth of God's kingdom. God's Kingdom is "not of this world," and it comes through lives changed by the Gospel. He writes His laws not in congress but in the hearts of man through His Holy Spirit. He is so much greater than a gavel slapped by a judge or a glinting crown on a king. Holy Roman Empire's have come and gone, colonial christians have risen and fallen, and even Christian absolute monarchs had their day.
Yet through it all the true Gospel work has been done through His people in pulpits, in prayer rooms, and in the pews. Whether those pulpits were underground escaping persecution, or those pews were in fancy churches, His Word has been fruitful in the fields of His people.
Friedrich Engels, co-author of the Communist Manifesto, once listed the "character he most disliked". He only had one name: Spurgeon
Why? Because Spurgeon loved the poor, cared for the orphans, and preached hope to the people. The exact opposite message that those who wish to upend the world want. Socialism and Christianity do not mix.
Christians who compromise on the Gospel and make it about political power will always begin to see the government as the answer to their problem.
And they will be wrong.
