Lets talk about it, as usual i see a few haters talking and questioning the motives behind my MUTUAL love with East Africa. I Big Up east Africa Year Round not just when im coming there! You have seen me with your eyes Countless times bigging up East Africa on MAJOR stages and BIG platforms worldwide for YEARS!! and by the way, tell me which artiste has the most love and shows the most love to East African artistes over the years🤔👀. Try to list all my features and remixes with artistes from the region, from my favorite Gamululu feat Apass to hopping on Backbencher remix just bcuz i think Toxic is 🔥🔥, remember how u felt hearing Gmoney play Figa remix (Ethic 🔥🔥) for the 1st time?? And those remixes arent even officially released!! in ofher words dont play with me, i been reppin!! East Africa dont pay me the most, they LOVE me the Most and i was never ever shy about Loving them right back💪🏾❤️. U guys slept on this song btw, this shoulda been a hit 🙂

🛎️🔨 🛎️🔨 🛎️🔨 🛎️🔨 : Calling 🤙📲 😛 all lovers ❤️💛💚 of Dancehall. Mukungane !! 🗣️📣 Mukungane !! 🗣️📣 ( In the voice of @JChameleone ) you know how the rest of the line goes. It’s without a doubt 💯 true that we are fond of old memories of @konshens & his old catalogue too with “ Bruk of Ya Back ” as the most loved chunne 🎧of them all. So as we fire up & gear up for his performance on the 1️⃣1️⃣. 1️⃣2️⃣. 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ at LUGOGO 🏏 🏟️ can we also embrace the songs or listen to the songs that are making rounds this year? I’m talking songs like ; 1. Yard Man | Hill & Gully Riddim 2. Like We. 3. Paaty Gad.

Man !! why do I feel like you should have started off this open letter in @JChameleone ‘s voice? 🤔 “ Ba D.J. Mukungane !! Mukungane !! “ & yes you know how the rest of it goes!! 😂 but anyways here’s my submission to complete yours ; 1. In my experience, the technical side of tone play requires a D.J. to know music & learn how to play an instrument like a piano 🎹 & keys in music. There after, compress that knowledge to something like a sampler pad from @PioneerDJ which takes a bare minimum of 6 months to master & incorporate into one’s set & persona D.J from the way I see it. I’m also taking time out to learn that skill & incorporate it into my sets as opposed to a quick fix of a transitions like the videos I’ve been seeing making arounds on the internet 🛜 2. To my brothers & sisters ( D.Js ) in the trade, Before we bring out our best selves can we get back to the culture or bring back the culture of consulting with our fellow comrades or the ones that own DJs academies. I’m putting this in words so we can have refresher courses on our skill sets what’s more can learn from one another & hold the flag of djying in Uganda 🇺🇬 high as a whole in ten fold ? 3. About opening sets, regardless of the current times or old times opening sets serve the purpose of starting the conversation about the night or event so that there’s a musical experience for the reseller to take home with them and to shape the culture & structure of the night. Someone please 🙏 correct me if I’m wrong in how I stand with my thoughts 💭
DJs, gather here small small. We need to talk about the art and how we can keep improving the way we play and serve the party pipo. I’ve observed a few things I think we need to work on as DJs. First, Trends. We all see how toneplay, wordplay and creative transitions are becoming a big thing. But the secret is in the timing. These tricks sound best when they’re well synced, clean enough for the crowd to enjoy without losing the flow of the music. Sometimes, the best transition is the one people feel more than they notice. U get it… Take time outside your playing hours to practise, research and master your timing. Learn your songs, understand the keys and find combinations that work. And for the copycats, if you’re going to borrow an idea, do it properly. Better yet, add your own sauce and make it even better than the original. That’s how we grow. Secondly, the early crowd and music selection. You can’t expect people to throw em hands in the air when they’ve just arrived and are still settling in. Every stage of the night has its own energy, and that’s standard As an opening DJ, your job is to set the mood, build gradually and leave the next DJ with something to work with. We’re all part of one experience, so let’s stop playing like we’re competing against each other. Read the room and give the crowd what the moment needs. Lastly to the our dear Nightlife hosts. “my mugaga wants Congolese music, play him two songs now now because he’s spending big” 🙄 We appreciate you inviting your big ballers to the party, and we respect the business side of things. But let’s also be honest. Most ballers want to enjoy themselves where the party is already happening, where the energy is right and the crowd is active. So let’s find a way to accommodate them without killing the vibe for everyone else. The Dorime bells. We’ve talked about this over and over. Can we find a better, more creative way to celebrate the big spenders while keeping the music playing, Coz mehn, you know how hard it is to regain the same energy after stopping the music for a baller moment. We need to find a balance between entertaining the big spenders and keeping the entire party engaged. We’re all in this together. Let’s make the art of deejaying better for ourselves, and, most importantly, for the pipo who come out to enjoy the music.

Man!! @paulwebs1 you just took me to 🛫 ⏰ : 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣9️⃣ when that was real culture. 🤌🏼 But that version of @jamrockug that gives me sleepless nights is the one from⏰ : 0️⃣2️⃣.0️⃣4️⃣. 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ at about ⏰ : 8️⃣: 3️⃣0️⃣PM. I’m thinking 🤔about recreating this new look 👀 & feel as the new normal & culture on a Thursday night. So help me jah!! 🧘🧘🧘🧘🧘
On a Thursday like this before COVID, I would be already making final touches at work with a whole weekend post schedule via crowdfire. Then after lunch, I would head to Valhalla by 3pm to secure the first happy hour beers for my gango. I rarely went to office on Fridays 🙌

They are so many dancehall generals I can’t mention them all if we are to make a list!! 🙅 however when it comes to reggae & dancehall ℹ don’t know about you, but @RobboRanx is the highest in the Ranx for me by far.🫡 Wait there’s more to it, you can’t make a claim to be a fan of dancehall & you can’t speak of reggae & dancehall in 🇬🇧 with out mentioning the name of mans. I’m the reggae & dancehall ambassador I’m because I was inspired by his works from 14 years ago & still inspired by the greatness of his works. 🫡 @bushingtone , @Richard_Covfefe & the team @GuvnorUganda large up on your selves 👊🫵🏾 you guys cooked 🧑‍🍳 – at Kampala, Uganda
