I've been following this, and it all stems from being a secondary tenant in a building. You see it with the PWHL as well (who also had a clinching game start in the afternoon, however at 5pm, not this early)
The 'downside' of growth: not that many big arenas and they are shared
Cole Caufield knows all about the @CanadiensMTL faithful!
He talked with @EJHradek_NHL about his pride being a Canadien, scoring 50 goals and more.
The Canadiens take on the @NHLBlackhawks tonight at 8 PM ET on NHL Network.
People are going to compare Jacob Fowler to a young Carey Price but young Carey Price wasn’t this composed.
Obviously Price got there (and Fowler has a way to go to even get close) but his start was very inconsistent.
Most Canadiens: “Playing outdoors takes me back to when I was a kid”
Lane Hutson: “Playing outdoors takes me back to last year when I was locked out of the facility and needed to skate somewhere”
There’s something very fitting (and very, very positive) about Evans and Guhle stepping up in the first game without Suzuki.
How does a team go from good to great? Buy in and leadership by an expanding core. Newhook established there last playoff. 71 and 21 get there? Hoo boy.
Talent and development is one thing. But when your core takes ownership? That’s when you start taking the next step. Suzuki’s absence, as weird as it sounds, will force others to take ownership long-term.
I truly don't care who wins the World Series this year. All I ask is that I can enjoy a series as good as last year's as a neutral.
How bad do things have to be if you're an American team that an American Olympian doesn't want to be traded to?
Why am I not full of doom with the Suzuki injury? Not sure... But I did just witness a Montreal hockey team win a championship without their award-winning captain and 1C out for weeks.
That probably plays a factor.
This is why you have depth. Will things be harder without Nick Suzuki for about a month? Sure. Good teams overcome that.
They'll need people to step up, and maybe this forces Kent Hughes to be a little more creative, but there's no reason to panic.
