That's because it's not being marketed to you; it's being marketed to governments and plutocrats. They're the real target audience for these products, not you.
You are not receiving the real sales pitch for AI, because the real sales pitch would not appeal to your sensibilities. The real sales pitch for AI isn't "Hey check out this product, it makes some web searches slightly easier and it can maybe write your emails for you." The real sales pitch for AI is "This product allows you to surveil the entire population of your country. It can be built into autonomous surveillance drones and killing machines. It can allow you to monitor and control every aspect of your society. It can reverse the decentralization of information brought on by the internet age. It can take away the collective bargaining power of workers and give you the skilled services your company requires. It can nullify strikes, civil disobedience, and even full-scale revolutions, and lock humanity into your capitalist dystopia forever."
That's the real sales pitch. It doesn't sound appealing to any normal person, but it makes sense when you remember who these technologies are really being sold to, and why.
Omg?? All the young people are like….incredibly certain that this trivia was unreasonable. Like…it’s their certainty that has me like 😱. Their tone isn’t like “maybe it’s just me.” They genuinely cannot fathom that this is right on par with how trivia has always been lol

We aren’t. Lol. That’s the problem. I wish we could run a truly accurate simulation & see what would happen if the country split & they had to choose to live on the side that is run by their policies or the side that is run by progressive policies. I would LOVE to see that, omg.

YES!! And THIS is why these conversations are important bc this exact underlying impulse is the common thread in just about all disdain towards Black Americans from EVERY source. The whole point is to make black Americans inferior ENTIRELY so America doesnt have to pay its debts.
One of the most bizarre things happening on here is the influx of responses like this. This is the type of Twitter response that comes after a salacious statement. But I’m seeing people respond this way to like…the parts of a thread where you respond with simple information
Tbh, I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsensical tweets. With regard to the excess ones (bc we used to see a lot but not THIS many) I think most are bots, but I think some are long COVID brain and I think some are people on drugs or in a mental health crisis. THIS IS NOT SHADE. Btw.
