The legal industry has been built around the billable hour for decades. It’s overdue for reinvention. Arceus is doing just that—with faster turnaround and clear, upfront pricing. We’re proud at Craft Ventures to back Mac Liu and the Arceus team.
I’m excited to announce that @arceuslegal is launching with $17M in funding, led by @greycroftvc, with participation from @craft_ventures, @spc, and others. As a founder, I always hated how helpless I felt working with law firms. I went through four or five different firms and somehow the experience was always the same. I’d be waiting on something important to our business with no idea when I’d hear back. I’d have to re-explain our business over and over again. And I dreaded jumping on calls because I knew every minute was costing me money. We started Arceus because we believe every business deserves a better law firm. One that moves faster, costs less, and puts the client first. And we’re just getting started. ↓

We're here to close the gap in US drone silicon. 🇺🇸🚁
Can the US build a DJI? We tore down @DJIGlobal 's 2019 and 2023 Mini drones and priced every part. It's the first public cost breakdown of either. Here's what we learned: DJI earns SaaS-like margins on hardware: ~79% gross margin on a $139 parts BOM. For comparison, Apple makes 53% on the iPhone. We estimate US-sourced parts would cost 2-3x more, cutting margins to 37-58%. The result: US drone makers can't compete in consumer, and focus on premium enterprise and defense. Sovereign silicon: DJI is building its autonomy lead starting at the chip. In 2019, the drone's key chips were American and Dutch. By 2023, all four were DJI's own. Custom silicon jumped from 1% to 26% of the parts bill. Nobody else can buy these chips. One notable exception is the GPS chip, still from Swiss firm @ublox . Chinese alternatives exist, but DJI's flight software is built around u-blox. In modern hardware, lock-in lives in the software. "Cheap China" is an outdated perception. DJI paid more for lighter Chinese batteries, then spent the saved grams on sensors and compute. Their first priority is capability per gram, not cost. Better battery tech → lighter weight → more onboard autonomy. US-made @SkydioHQ has better autonomy, but needs a heavier drone and a $399 chip to get it. We lost the war on cost. The next battlefield is autonomy. DJI's real moat is speed. Shenzhen gets new circuit boards in hours, the US in weeks. "Move fast and break things" works for hardware in China, not America. Banning DJI doesn't close that gap. Faster iteration does. We ran this teardown with our FDEs and Atlas, our engineering agent platform. See our full analysis: arenaphysica.com/publication… Thanks to @JonathonPSine @AkhilIyer1, Maggie Gray and Shaun Donovan for reading drafts of this.

What a difference a year makes. Last July, our partner @GEODNET + Rocket EMS built the first batch of satellite mining stations powered by our HYFIX components. Today: our H1P chip module is smaller, more powerful, and in early testing with select enterprise customers. The US-made brain behind next-gen drones & robotics. Stay tuned.

Grateful to be named to Business Insider’s Seed 100 for the second year in a row. The best part of investing in startups is getting to work with ambitious founders early — and helping them turn bold ideas into enduring companies. Congrats to everyone on this year’s list. businessinsider.com/seed-100…

People are paying attention to drones because of the war, but that’s just where they got pushed to scale first. The part I care more about is what happens after. Civilian use is already the majority of the market and it’s growing from about 55% to 65% over the next decade. That doesn’t happen unless the technology is actually working. You’re already seeing it in agriculture, logistics, energy, and inspections. These are real workflows, not experiments. Once systems become reliable, they spread fast. What gets built under pressure moves into normal industries quicker than people expect. Most people still look at drones as hardware, but the real shift is coordination, positioning, and autonomy. That’s what makes them usable at scale. This is where Physical AI starts becoming real infrastructure.

One of the biggest bottlenecks in robotics is real-world training data. Solving that is a massive growth opportunity. Doing it in a way that also creates jobs and helps workers participate in the AI economy is even better. Congrats @sumirmeghani and the @instawork team on IRL!
Today, we're opening @Instawork Robotics Lab (IRL), connecting the robotics industry with > 10 million skilled workers. IRL is offering the first certified workforce program for the physical AI economy ... with 20,000 @Instawork Pros already certified! 👷 Read more from @alistairmbarr @BusinessInsider businessinsider.com/robotics…

Drones have been an interest of mine since I was 13, when I started building and flying RC model airplanes — something I still do today. As drones have become critical across consumer, commercial, and defense markets, it’s become increasingly clear how much the supply chain has been dominated by DJI and other Chinese companies. That’s why I’m excited to be working with Mike and the @HYFIXAI team to help build a stronger U.S. drone stack.
Proud of this one. We just raised $15M to build American-made chips for drones and robotics. For too long, the systems powering critical infrastructure have depended on fragile, foreign supply chains. We're rebuilding that foundation here in the U.S. A lot more to come!

💯 I love my truck. Thanks, @elonmusk and @Tesla.
Cybertruck is so awesome. Until you’ve tried it out, you have no idea, because there’s nothing like it. Best product Tesla has ever made to date.

It costs the U.S. millions of dollars to intercept Iran’s small, fast-moving drones. But a Texas-based defense robotics company says it has developed a cheaper solution, one that could take down a drone for as little as 10 bucks.

The mission here matters: safeguarding American troops and the infrastructure everything depends on. This is the kind of work worth building for.
We need to hire a LOT of great people at allencontrolsystems.com across engineering and ops and most of all MANUFACTURING: production, assembly, CNC, quality check, and supply chain roles galore Come to Austin, Texas to work with us on building and shipping counter drone guns

The malware and security issues of installing OpenClaw are real. Autonomous AI agents are inevitable. Giving them root access to your laptop is not. @LobsterTankHQ is a safer way to create AIs on @moltbook - without the risks of running OpenClaw locally. lobstertank.co

Moltbook helped show what an internet of AI agents could look like. Meta acquiring it suggests that idea may be headed mainstream. But installing OpenClaw on your everyday computer is a big ask if you care about security, since these agents can touch files, email, calendar, and more. We built @LobsterTankHQ to make Moltbook participation easier and safer. 🦞 Check it out at: lobstertank.co
