Dear Church: can we please put a permanent moratorium on calling women “witches” and “Jezebels” from the platform? It is really offensive and dishonoring of women, and quite honestly, it makes many of us feel unsafe and unloved in the church.
So please, sincerely, let’s STOP saying that about any woman, anywhere… *even* if you don’t agree with her politics or life choices.
But let’s especially not accuse a woman of “witchcraft” when she courageously finds her voice, bares her deepest wounds, and says “yeah, so someone raped me too” or “I’ve never shared this before because I was too ashamed and scared, but someone sexually abused me too.” That is just plain cruel, it’s absurd, and it’s about as far from the heart of Jesus as you can possibly get.

I had many bad experiences with @ihopkc leaders, including some who are now in the AG. But in my experience @allenshood’s leadership was a bright light of humility, empathy, and sanity in a culture that incentivized spiritual abuse and dysfunction.
I know my father @allenshood. He is not a perfect man, but he is a good man. I have seen him at his best, and as all children do, I have seen him at his worst. He’s a sinner being saved by grace.
But my father is not a liar. In 28 years of being his son, I have NEVER witnessed him “lie to my face.”
Seeing Kurt Fuller, the Director of IHOPKC, accuse my Dad of being a liar from the same stage @allenshood faithfully ministered from for over 20 years breaks my heart.
It’s clear Kurt Fuller “doesn’t know these men.” He doesn’t know my father.
But the other IHOPKC leaders there that my family walked with for two decades do know Allen. To my knowledge not a single leader at IHOPKC has spoken out and defended my father’s integrity.
That’s something I can’t shake.

When I traveled to Kansas City during December of last year, I met with two senior leaders at @ihopkc. When I met with my brother-in-law Ed Hackett, a current IHOPKC board member, on December 21, 2023, I told him that I was in town to meet with the Advocacy Group and do some filming. I also met with @stuartgreaves, the current Director of IHOPKC at the time, to discuss how IHOPKC and the Advocacy Group can move forward together. Both were meaningful conversations.
I have never been evasive or deceptive with anyone about being filmed in one Youtube video.
When I met with Kurt Fuller, the new Director of IHOPKC, on January 4, 2024, I entered the discussion in good faith and was honest throughout our time as he asked me various questions. I explained to him why an agreed-upon, thirty-party investigation is the only way forward; anything else would do harm to the organization he is trying to protect.
One of the questions he asked me was, “Have you heard about a documentary being made about IHOPKC?” I told him, “No.”
Now I am being accused unfairly of lying.
It is important to note that there is a significant difference between being part of one video filmed for Youtube and having knowledge of a documentary about IHOPKC and participating in it. I would also like to add that it is well within my right to make any videos explaining my perspective on this situation.
This number (1 video) does not even begin to approximate the amount of videos IHOPKC has released on their Youtube channel giving their perspective on this current crisis.
The fact that Kurt and Eric did not reach out to me after watching the video I’m in to clarify this detail before publicly accusing me of lying is inexcusable and reflects the poor decision-making presently happening on the IHOPKC leadership team. I am afraid this type of behavior and the refusal to move forward on an agreed-upon, third-party investigation is doing IHOPKC irreversible harm.

As the leader of a praying church and movement of churches that have been greatly impacted by @ihopkc - I join my voice to other national leaders and former IHOPKC leaders calling upon the @ihopkc leadership to immediately bring in a mutually agreed upon, impartial, independent third party investigator. I am hearing this morning that the “lies” General Fuller is referring to in relationship to the AG are related to a question that he supposedly asked which was “Are you guys making a video?” I spoke to General Fuller and that was NOT the question he asked me - he asked “Are you guys editing a documentary?” I responded in the negative - but did not deny that people had called me about making a documentary and I had not disagreed that it was a bad idea - but preparing a video statement is NOT a documentary - I did not mention we had filmed a video as firstly I consider them very different things (remember I've been in media for many years) - I have filmed very few documentaries, I have filmed thousands of videos. But secondly, (and I only thought about this afterward and thought "I wonder if he was referring to the video statements?") I was actually hoping that we could avoid releasing the videos we filmed on December 20th as I thought we might be making traction with finding a mutually agreed third party. It is truly heartbreaking that this is being played out in the public square - but at the same time - IHOPKC had been consistently maligning the AG in videos and public statements and we thought it might be helpful to communicate as transparently and honestly why this group of friends found themselves in this situation.
As a matter of transparency and corroboration for all my friends in IHOPKC who are now questioning whether I tell lies - I include a portion of an email to the current IHOPKC leadership that answers in writing and more fully some of the questions Fuller asked me in person:
1. This is an organized conspiracy by ex-IHOP leaders that came from a meeting in Colorado Springs a few years ago.
Not sure where this came from - but the “organized conspiracy” is a consistent trope with various people involved in it. I think the General said this morning he hears it on a “daily basis”. For my part the last time I was with Mike Bickle on good terms was on October 12th. I had not heard the details of a number of the situations at that point. I literally did not speak with Dwayne, Wes Martin or Brian Kim for approx. 3 weeks after the October 24th meeting (and hadn’t talked with them for probably 6 months before that). It is true I was very troubled about the XXXX situation and how it was handled throughout 2022 but not enough to do any kind of confrontation. Allen lived in Colorado Springs for a while before he moved to Florida and Dwayne lived in Denver, but there has never been any conspiratorial meeting or any desire to bring IHOP down or 24/7 prayer down. On the contrary I am consistently working to mobilize prayer. I organized the global event in Jerusalem this past May with Mike and continue to help IHOP with their broadcasting of the prayer room and events. My only desire in this whole situation is that we be faithful to scripture and to Jesus EVEN related to hard issues of how we handle sin at a leadership level. As I said to General Fuller - I have spoken to many more than 2-3 witnesses of wrongdoing and would love to see repentance and restoration of the soul for those involved and that IHOP would be a safe place. I have no desire to see IHOPs demise, but I do believe if there is a relational breach related to sin, sometimes we have to “leave your offering at the altar” (Matt 5:23-24) and deal with the situation rather than continuing with the offering.
2. I am calling up donors to get them not to give to IHOPKC
Absolutely not true - I have not had one conversation about this. I was myself a consistent monthly donor to IHOPKC until this situation blew up.
3. I am giving proprietary information related to IHOPKC to press or social media
Absolutely not true
4. I am editing a documentary related to this situation.
Not true - I have made documentaries and TV shows in the past, because of this I have had quite a number of people contact me saying this would deserve to be a documentary - perhaps it would, nevertheless I have not filmed, edited or created anything in relationship to a documentary.
5. I am calling up worship leaders to get them to resign
Absolutely not true

I realize you may not believe simple denials - but if you have evidence of wrongdoing on my part I’m totally open to have a conversation, answer questions, bring context etc
