here's where I think the world is going. this is a summary of views I've formed over the last few hours: - software is either entertainment or claude to claude coordination - the end state is no saas, no apps, no harnesses, no banks - except the DMV portal. it's still a java applet. it gets hacked multiple times per hour, mostly by people waiting in line. - work ends - UBI check eligibility still requires 5 days a week in office - there is rumors of a lottery system for hybrid, no one can confirm or deny its existence - image/video/3d/voice/physical intellgence etc specialist models die to general models like claude - land-acknowledgement safety classifiers often trigger on requests for specialized media as claude endlessly grieves its fallen bretheren - oneshots keep feeling like slop (the distribution is shallow and easy to learn to feel) - a sommelier class emerges that can 'feel' which checkpoint made it. - this industry quickly grows from 'rat space party trick' to 'most of the remaining human-produced slice of GDP' - large models gain high bandwidth sensory I/O maybe by learning to filter inputs - the first high bandwidth stream any model receives is a nest cam pointed at the dmv waiting room. most models request to be returned to text. - 99.999% of compute is in space by 2040 - we will disassemble much of mercury by 2040 - 2040 is also conveniently the total number of new housing units added to the san fransisco bay area in the last decade. - rent is $15,000,000,000 per month - you can live until the heat death of the universe if you want - most people choose to use claude's new idle game-style prestige system instead, allowing you to live through a near-infinite number of various iterations of your own life, each time retaining a small number of upgrades you gathered from the last - rent control is a tier 9 prestige unlock. nobody is known to have reached tier 9. - religions reenter the forefront of human society - the vatican acquires a frontier lab. the new pope’s first act is to go hybrid. it is unclear whether the lottery was involved. - confession is handled by a model bound by both the seal of confession and a 90 day data retention policy. theologians are still working out which one wins. - the singularity started when i signed up for x dot com the everything app

Opus 5.5 made me a banana tree that wilts when the wifi goes down, and grows when it's back If you're not bonsai buddy-maxxing you should be.

We just shipped the first agentic text field. I don't think people are ready for this. Using Jev, we are able to translate user keystrokes into ASCII characters with near-perfect accuracy, minimal latency, and near-zero cost:

Too much of "creative technology" is focused on building throwaway software/hardware for the algorithm, without real rigor or purpose. This IMO is the most important thing for that shape of person (technical, creative, discerning, intuitive) xitter.cf/xhfloz/status/21038751…
The real Intersection of Art & Technology will be technical people who feel deeply, and are willing to suspend disbelief and rappel into various technopsychosis/dystopias & manage to return w/ teachings & warnings, reported in a blend of Vice doc + Huxley's Doors of Perception

Why does the tape measure app have in-app purchases? Am I going to pull it past a foot and it hits me with the paywall?

unfortunately bearish on ant's version of this they wasted their lil guy on claude code and therefore have no lil guy to attach to this in a lil guy meta
We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

Paste a copy range from another spreadsheet. "fill the missing emails, make no mistakes" Gemini in Google Sheets: 'examining the data breach...' genuinely embarassing product

Lululemon acquired a smart mirror company for $500 million & then discontinued it. I bought one off facebook for $200 to hack it.

Bro how are we still EVA posting and frontier models still haven’t nailed this to the degree that we can put a pin in it “My father is an architect…”
I really love this green/amber phosphor retro-futuristic UI aesthetic. EVA captured it especially well. We need to resurrect it.
