🚨Breaking. There's been a pneumonic plague outbreak at a BSL-3 lab in Siberia, Russia.🚨
"Nearly 200 People Under Observation After Irkutsk Lab Worker Dies From Plague" - Moscow Times
This is fact, and also the inciting incident in my book BIOLOGICAL WAR: A SCENARIO, which is unnerving.
Will post more as I learn more, including from Russian speaking sources🧵

Now is a good time to start following Annie if you're not already.
🚨☣️More details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab.
"FSB units accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news. This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security / counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary.
It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.

9/11 today. 25 year long chimpout where we're still fighting a pointless war in the Middle East that we can't win. Americans are less free than before and now live in a diminished, declining state, ruled by geriatrics with no stake in the future.

If you tax them significantly, their wealth, which is almost entirely in fictitious financial assets, will evaporate. Tax them to weaken their political power, but they're not a recurring source of revenue at the kind of rates you'd need to support a decent welfare state.

I think it'd be strategic for the left to try to aggressively flank the right on the issue of educational rigor. Edtech finally codes conservative with AI. And it sucks! And people HATE it.

🦔A researcher pulled a live camera feed, a home floor plan, and the Wi-Fi password in plain text from a Shark robot vacuum he didn't own. One security certificate unlocked every other Shark vacuum. He listened to Shark's system for 24 hours, counted 1.5 million vacuums checking in, and 673,000 responded to a command he sent. He told Shark in March. They promised a fix by July 10. No patch, no response, so he published.
My Take
Your vacuum cleaner is now a bigger security risk than your front door. Someone with basic hardware skills can pull your Wi-Fi password, watch your camera, and download the layout of your home, and the company that sold it to you knew for four months and couldn't be bothered to fix it. Every week there's a new device on the list. LG monitors, Flock cameras, smart TVs, now vacuums. I'm running out of appliances.
The reason none of this gets fixed is because there's no consequence. A car manufacturer would face a mandatory recall. Shark faces a Reddit thread. Until connected devices are held to the same product safety standards as everything else people bring into their homes, companies will keep shipping cameras and microphones with barely any investment in security. If you own a Shark vacuum with a camera, unplug it tonight. That's the only fix available right now because Shark hasn't provided one.

I said this about AI well over a year ago. Using it to diagnose and fire people with medical conditions so they lose their insurance AND their income is somehow even more heartless and evil than I’d predicted.
Meta used AI to target workers with medical conditions for layoffs, according to a new lawsuit.
Twenty-six former Meta employees are suing, accusing the company of using AI that disproportionately targeted people with disabilities or workers who took medical leave in selecting people for mass layoffs.

An American just got sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for moving “Antifa” zines and there’s about 1000x as much media coverage of Trump’s reflecting pool 👍

This man, who goes by “Des,” has been a legal resident since 14. He moved some antifascist zines from one apartment to another after his wife was arrested protesting ICE.
He was sentenced to 30 years for being in “Antifa”—a non-existent boogeyman. It is murder by incarceration.
With the regime railroading antifascists into life sentences for committing no crime, and trying to “institutionalize” disabled people, we have reached naked, unadulterated fascism.
Fascism never stops on its own. Defeating it won’t be easy—or peaceful.

Slavery. And not even the 13th amendment allows it because there is no conviction of a crime. One party wipes its ass with the constitution while the other party allows itself to be hamstrung by it.
ICE has revised its rules to say that detainees who work in custody aren't even required to get $1 per day, after a request from private prison giant Geo Group.
Geo Group also asked ICE to remove lines saying contractors needed to follow state and local laws around the treatment of detainees, asked ICE amend language to support its legal position in these cases, and asked that the standards specify that detainees are not employees of the facilities where they work.
In addition to removing the dollar per day minimum, ICE's new national standards complied with several of Geo Group's other requests, for instance the document now says detainees are not employees “and are not entitled to wages or benefits under applicable wage laws or labor regulations.”

I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

If you can’t tax billionaires and trillionaire because “its unrealized gains until they cash out,” then stop letting them leverage that wealth for loans, as collateral, or as equity.
If it’s not real enough to tax, it shouldn’t be real enough to leverage.
This is why we say the system is rigged in favor of the super wealthy. Abolish billionaires, tax them out of existence, protect working people.
